I cried as I watched this. I really love the song and was so deeply moved by the way you spoke of your father. My mother had a stroke in 2020 and we were forced to put her in the hospital during COVID. My mother was blind and had heavily relied on me to help her. I had spent a couple years caring for her and we became best friends and constant companions. And then she was alone, blind, disoriented and unable to walk. The therapist told me to imagine spinning in darkness, and it never stops. And I wasn't there to comfort her. We spoke on the phone but she was deeply unhappy and confused. And then I was informed she tested positive for COVID. I had not been allowed to see her for weeks in order to prevent that and here it was. She died three days later in an ICU, our last words were I love you. I still carry the pain of her solitude during that time. I wanted to be there. I wanted to make it better. And now my life is forever without that tiny powerhouse of a woman who was blind but the bravest person I will ever know. And that's my story. Thank you for sharing yours. It's lovely that your father got to hear the song, it is the finest hommage I can imagine. Sending you my best, you have a fan in Canada.

I’m so sorry your Dad died to this Life. Grief is hard & there’s no end… only a softening, with time. My Dad died when I was about 18 months old. Whole family was in car, hit by a truck driver who’d lost control. My Mom died in 1986, from pancreatic cancer. She woke up with yellow skin one morning & we took her to ER. She lived 8 weeks after the diagnosis. My sister and I took care of her at home. Gods Peace to you brothers. ❤❤
