My mom got this version for my brother when it first came out on VHS. You're right the Rankin/Bass one is still the better version, but I still like this one. Oh yeah I definitely noticed the voice changing between Rudolph's speaking and singing voice. I actually enjoyed that duet too, as cliche as it was. Favorite song is the climax song when Rudolph leads the way through that storm. It actually had a nice twist near the end too.
