John Hughes in full effect. Marking a move away from his run of teen comedy/drama, and (IMO) one of the last great films he made apart from Uncle Buck. It's just beautifully made, paced to perfection and with some great nuance. Hilarious, and then incredibly touching. A classic for good reason.

Kevin,I've been putting this movie off for 40years because I thought it was a transport film,I'm glad I watched it,it's now my favourite film of all time thanks for reacting to it,I probably have to watch the full movie rather than edited highlights highlights,I promise I won't leave it another 40years,infact I'm sure I'll watch before you get around you watching no country for old men.lol..this. film had pathos. I bet you didn't figure out the ending,it struck a chord with me. kevin, are you home alone this Christmas..

Kevin I disagree with sadest ending between home alone &tp&a,home alone wholesome nobody died happy ending, planes trains &automobiles, adversity friendship death love, festive goodwill heart strings pulled love to thy fellow human being, kevin you got to re evaluate..
