It's the thing you have to look out for. But they were losing in a rapid game and probably low on time. Continual checking with the queen is the right idea in general, even if the technique was wrong. But yeah. Keep an eye for if the king can get to safety, and if it can, what move prevents that.

@elonstruths1475 continually checking the king is not the right idea when there are 2 rooks on the board and when the king can hide on the queenside. There was way too many hiding squares for a perpetual

​@@pommedemer1922 Well, that was my point. It wasn't the right idea, exactly. But white's king was the biggest weakness, and as I said black was in time trouble in a rapid game. Attacking was the right idea, just not that way. I mean it was far from the worst thing I've seen. If you want deserving of ridicule, check today's game.
