John, I gotta say, that is some exceptional artwork. A career in comics might have been right up your alley.

I was there at midnight for the Episode 1 toys and bought them all and still have them all mint in box. Unfortunately they are not worth much. Still fun to have. The hype for that movie is still unparalleled. 17 yrs, just ridiculous.

Johnny, love these episodes. I did a lot of that kind of drawing with Star Blazers, 1970's Super Robots, Transformers. On that note I remember vividly the Skyfire/Jetfire "controversy." I still have late 70's Star Wars card collections, and a complete Superman II card collection. Empire and Jedi got those too. I'd ride my bike to the store and blow my allowance on those cards when they were 25 cents a pack with that nasty rock hard bubble gum. I wish I could edit video and share it.

Great video. I am sure you've gotten this suggestion quite a bit, but I think you should do some hi-res scans of your childhood artwork and do a kind of memoir about your youth and the influence that these games, anime, manga etc. had on you. It would be a terrific read.

Lol man I remember the days of sitting in front of the TV with my Power Rangers Voiceman (like the Talk Boy from Home Alone) and recording music from games, tv shows, movies, etc. and ghetto rigging the HELL out of my TV and VCRs so I could record movies I'd rent onto blank tapes..... Your Akira cassette made me think of that for some reason. Man - you have the coolest shit! My mom was a minimalist so we never kept ANYTHING
