The lifebar is meaningless... yeah unless your local arcade owners are d*cks and turn break on the first stage. Pretty impossible to practice beyond 20s...

Trying to practice saving money in the 20’s it was relevantly easy until the stock market crash oh 1929, where everyone was so poor that saving up and purchasing needs at the same time was virtually impossible, but beyond the 20’s? The economy is now back on track although it did drop a considerable bit during around 2007-8 bit otherwise practicing the arts of saving is now more than possible

I think the cab in 23 paskal bandung also does that and the cherry on top is that they give you i 1 less heart for more money than other arcades that give you all the hearts and stage break on 51 misses

I like when stage break is on, like at my local arcade, it's on the 2nd song and onwards. I'm currently on 17's and 18's. I like to watch charts online to study them. To me, stage break gives me a big motivation to just keep going.

My Round1 does this for PIU and it's the main reason why I play DDR over the former. I want to practice, and with Pump, I have to do songs I know I'll pass after the first or have at least a good chance where in DDR I can pick a hard song, fail, and still get two songs.

I was pretty hyped when I saw your facebook post for this video, as i'm thinking of working on a "PIU wiki" kind of website. My idea has been to watch (almost) every chart in the game, comment on them, note down what stands out about them (like specific patterns for practice) and then compile everything on a site. I'll make it so you can search songs by tags ( "twist song", "prime 2", "s17"....) or by patterns. The main motivator of this project is being able to search charts by patterns tbh. Even though a lot of different communities around pump don't necessarily agree with or use the same terminology, i'll keep in mind the definitions you mentioned since you're able to reach quite a big audience. I'd be really glad if Seth sees this UwU. Hope to see more content like this tbh.

I feel like back in the older ITG days, what you call mashing now was being called bracketing or bracket-raping. But ITG Singles didn't tend to require bracketing as much for their charts for a while, at least before charts like Rasen's V came out.

One more terminology I use is "walks" for co op play. The pattern where one player has to go from left to right or vice versa on only the top or bottom notes. Mope Mope co op has a bunch of them. There's also spins where the pattern is easiest hit doing a spin. There's a few varients for spins, but they all require you to do a full rotation. Most players cheat them but if I'm feeling cocky and already have a pass on the map I'll do any spin I see. Like Me S14 is a good example. Or kimchi fingers S14 or pumptris quattro sp10 for more unconventional spin patterns. Please Adamiro add more spins to maps. 😭

Why in Pump It Up, 2 notes or more counted as one combo only?
@Supurait5 жыл бұрын
I'll be _that_ guy. The idea behind terminology is great, however the realisation could use some work. Terms seem to be scattered all over the place with no logic. Triplets and quads and then jumps? Shouldn't it go jumps -> triplets -> quads? Then, the terms come at varying sets of difficulty level. Brackets, quads, drills into haha jumps. Thats not really how you encounter them in piu while growing in skill. People who would really need the terminology are those who cant perform high level things. I believe the terms should go in ascending order of difficulty. Like a set of "skills" that player has to identify and master. "This s15 is infamous for its [runs]" "This s18 has [drills] at [200bpm]" "This d15 chart has [halfdouble] patterns" "This s23 can be [cheated] by [mashing]” Keep up the god's work.

Does anyone have an official explanation behind the scoring system? From what I've seen, getting a SS (or now a SSS) can be beat by another score that's played on Rank mode. Rank mode boosts score for sure, but does the combo work like a multiplier (such as in Guitar Hero) where if you miss a note somewhere in the middle or closer to the beginning, your score is going to be kinda jacked if you play against someone else that misses possibly later? We've definitely seen some A scores beat S scores on the same difficulties as well, which has me wonder that.

When you "cheat" in 4panel it often involves using one foot for multiple steps to avoid having to turn. In pump this isn't often the case. Sometimes it includes bracketing, turning an unintended direction on purpose, and doublestepping. Cheating in pump really just means using any method that's not the intended one to hit the arrows
