Rolex's end game is pretty obvious. They're going to get rid of the ADs in favor of retailing them themselves. I think it's a great move. They have a product where demand is greater than supply so why should they pay a cut to their dealers? Let's also not forget that for 99% of people looking to do business with an AD, the experience is miserable. It's like a country club interview only worse because you know that unless you're prepared to fork over thousands for a grossly overpriced piece of jewelry, you probably won't have a shot in buying what you'd like at retail. The math is simple. Buy your wife a $20,000 bracelet or necklace that should sell for around 1/2 that and be allowed to buy a watch that you'd otherwise have to pay a few thousand more for on the gray market. After dealing with my local AD asshole for a little while, I bit the bullet and paid $1,000 over retail for my wife's OP and had a way better buying experience. Sadly the gray market dealer I went to did not offer me a complimentary Pelegrino or bonbon. Oh well.

No. No. NO!!! Don't buy any Rolex. Rolex is for people that know nothing about watches. I know because I sold them for decades. To even ask this question shows how this guy has been manipulated by Rolex and their disrespectful and extremely manipulative marketing that should have them held accountable by "standards and practices". The problem is we no longer have standards and practices in a world wide capitalist society. Rolex, these days, is more like a psychological social disease. You want one because you were told by Rolex you want one. I see them as kind of a social disease aimed directly at your ego.

I buy my watches on a different grey market. Mine is significantly less expensive. Go check Chrono 24 on same models he mentioned. Celebration dial 41 even 2 month ago was about 24 and it is about 20 plus minus today at Christmas time. Means in a month or 2 watch should drop another 1-2K in resell value. It might stop at 15 maybe. At list it is what I plan to pay for it in a year if I never get a call. No one rush to buy anymore. Watch is not a fucking investment. Hopefully latest generation of morons learned it hard way.

I would say your assessments pretty accurate. Only thing I would have noted around the day date 40 is the yellow gold green dial is a great buy. Been offered 48500 for a new one so its easy to sell and make a small chunk if you decided you dont want it which...not sure why you would. My wife said "you dont need 3 green rolex's", she said your getting the oyster flex instead and honestly shes always right.

I don't know what country you live in but the Rolex prices in the grey market definitely took a dip from 2022 across the globe. We have seen a huge dip in the USA and Hong Kong market.

The best part about these videos is sharing making a clear point that, buy what you love and feel proud wearing and most importantly what you can afford. People forgetting the joy of owning a watch is not to flip but to wear and appreciate. Collecting watches for almost 12 years starting with Seiko. Rolex is just an S tier brand because of marketing. So many brands in the market where you will find more fun and value. Still love Rolex tho.
