Easier to just not bother with the lock. If thieves want your stuff they will get it anyway. We have never locked our cases and have never lost anything, even in the USA.

It's best not use these built in locks that jam and malfunction a lot. Better to use a separate old fashioned lock. In my case the dials cant be moved at all when you pull the button out to unlock.
