The reason for Pak downfall is 1. Spin trio failed misrebly, considering you had this WC in subcontinent 2. Fast bowling has been toothless apart from Waseem Jnr, he was the only one who bowled good overall throughout, shaheen might have wickets but they were not impact ones, they were always at the backend when batsmen tried to slog. 3.Babar , Imam failed aswell, not a single match winning innings, Rizwan with just 1 match innings. To sum up overall performance, if we notice Pak throughout, Their batting has been like that in years, may be in late 90's and early 2000's it was better but i believe this is the worst bowling i have seen which led to their downfall. Bowling was always their strength in these tournaments

The logic of having outstandingly performing employee as a team leader in corporate world is to assure his decision/ mentorship gets attention, members respect him/ her and mutual trust prevails. This needs to be earned by the team leader by demonstrating exceptional skillset, knowledge in the role of independent contributor (recent past). Then only team members will feel motivated, inspired and consider themselves to be in good hands. Same logic will be valid in cricket. So Pakistan needs a captain (after Babar) who tick all the above boxes. It’s tough!! Rizwan, Imam , shaheen, Iftikar are the only options. But I doubt changing Caption will change anything, for sure. Pakistan has to live with whatever they have at the moment (for captain ship position). Missing part is :Grooming Captain prior to offering him such critical role !! - Vivek
