Would have loved to see the Great Beast commanded to charge into the ruins and start the inevitable stampede after stampede as it continues to wound itself ...at least that's what always happens to mine 😅

Just double check that you are playing that correctly, it will only take damage if it hits a fortification with defense 9 or higher. Ruins are not fortifications so you shouldn't take damage if you hit one "If the War Beast comes into contact with a fortification with a Defence of 9 or higher, or another War Beast, it will inflict three Strength 9 hits upon it as well as suffering three Strength 9 hits itself"

@@ConquestCreations is there a current rule to dictate what counts as a fortification? I think in the old rulebook there was a table but at the events I've taken my beast to we've always just agreed on what terrain on the table would count as defence 9

@@Azazel671 The definition of a fortification is strong walls, towers, etc. that are built to protect a place. There isn't a rule book definition of it but its clearly not intended to be all terrain. The ruins in the video were ruins rather than fortifications.

Huge game, Good use of magic from the Betrayer. Love to see Raza in a list, I think he's supremely underrated (most serpent horde players seem to prefer king mtd with war spear)

Hey, thanks very much! The basic premise was Celestra Grey on the outer cloaks, Skavenblight dinge for all the inner cloaks/pants, gorthor brown for all the belts/wrappings/quivers/bows.The aqua is (I believe) sobek green, and the base is just mephiston red and some tuskor fur. Painted most of these guys a year or two ago and kept it fairly simple, base coat, nuln oil wash, highlight up with the base colour. Would love to go back and add some more layers to them!

Interesting game. I read somewhere that with nazguls on both sides, the game might devolve into a SapWill race to the bottom struggle. Good to see something else and then the Sap Will spell in a sniper moment actions. Looking forward to the next one :)

Thanks for the comment. In games where the wraiths do Sap will each other to death its actually really interesting because it means that they are giving up targeting anything else in the army. This was a great use of the wraiths to use the compells and then the Sap will assassination was awesome

I thought you couldn't compel a war beast? Doesn't the old FAQ (that got folded into the new rulebook) on moving it against its will come into play? Q: Can a War Beast be affected by special rules that force it to move, such as a Wood Elf Sentinel’s Eldamar Madrigal or a Dead Marsh Spectre’s A Fell Light is in Them? (p.80) A: No.

(I think) This is referring to the beast itself. You can still target the guy who controls the war beast which will also move the beast.

Games Workshop terrain is great but we love the freedom of 3D printing allowing us to make whatever we want. We have started roughing in the ideas for what project comes next!

Great vid. What’s the reason for choosing an ordinary Mordor shaman over Kardush?

Good question, the main reason in this list is for the speed from the warg. David already has a great caster with the Witch King so he doesn't need to worry about the shaman just getting his will sapped from another wraith so replenishing it with Kardush is less important. Having a few fireblasts can be helpful but having a model who can move 10 inches and auto pass all courage tests is really helpful for getting late game objectives. In this scenario and match up it isn't to big of a deal but in other games it would be

Really wish betrayer harad wasn't in the meta. It's really encourages negative gameplay where you just run away and shoot (not that it was too bad in this game). Not a fun army to play against.

Yeah I’m quite surprised by this take. I’ve only seen the betrayer used by a couple other players, and usually this was in all mounted variants. It’s also quite obvious that if I wanted to, I could’ve hid right in the corners with the terrain barely allowing the great beast to get into combat whatsoever. However, it’s far more fun for everyone if the shooting has a turn or two to chip off some wounds, and then you just get stuck in!
