$1000 Antiques Hunt: Hanoi Shopping Spree 🇻🇳

■ HANOI, VIETNAM: Markets are fun both for making videos , bargaining and buying antiques. Shops however are an entirely different beast. They offer a less entertaining experience as they are a more serious and formal place of business. But on the upside they generally offer higher quality products and pricier items on sale. You can find a handcrafted specialty product or a genuine antique item with serious history behind it you can value for the rest of your life.
Walking around window shopping in Hanoi I noticed many unique antique stores plus local handicraft outlets. I figured this might be a good setting for the priciest Vietnam shopping video to date.
So out I went locked and loaded with The Federal Reserves in hand 💰

Right we should ask if he bargains? Maybe $8 a month? Ahah I think that’s the most I’d be willing to spend
@HaraldBaldr
@HaraldBaldr 3 ай бұрын
It's $15 so why lie about it? But if you think that is pricey I might put it up to $30 next year if I continue with it. But hey Netflix is this and blah blah. Can you ask the owner of Netflix a question and get a video response from him? Can you ask him about growing a rival platform to netflix and he'll give you advice on how to do it? Will he make mini vlogs for you about unique things he sees or maybe a great hotel you wanted to see reviewed? Will he spend $800 (what I spent just in shipping costs this month) to send you cool stuff he buys or has in videos? The people who complain on price wouldn't sign up even if it $1.

Harald, last year I traveled to Hanoi from New Zealand especially to take a class to learn to make Egg Coffee (Ca Phe Trung, they call it). I also learnt to make coconut coffee, it is simply devine. Hanoi is the home of this coffee, it originates from the Vietnam war, where milk was difficult for Vietnamese to get so they instead learnt to formulate egg to taste similar in texture and slightly sweeter than milk. It is very difficult to find this outside of Vietnam, but it is indeed something very amazing. Mucho respeto for trying something new, as you always do. Only the brave will lead the charge!

Hei Harald! Just want give a comment on your difficulty of choice in which camera to use. The Sony is far more superior in the style which you are used to doing your videos and which (I think) most of us like. If you'd just find a camera that could do all that the Sony does so well with its wider angle, the smooth movement etc. BUT with a 4k resolution then hell! That'd be perfect but does such a thing even exist? As long as you don't have one I'd stick with the Sony. The 4k cam is also great but "the Harald style" that you're known for with the Sony is far more enjoyable and authentic feeling than the ones with the newer DJi(?). Not to even mention trying to shift into "Gabriel high roller Traveller modes" which would never be possible by just pressing a button that automatically turns it facing forwards. That's just not how the BIG DOGS ROLL. 😅 Nevertheless which cam you choose to use I want to give a huge thank you from a Finnish neighbour and a fan. Try to consider a Nordic trip maybe someday? I have a hunch that you yourself aren't probably into it. And I love you because you do what YOU want to do! But still I'm trying to plant a little seed of thought. Because I bet there's all kinds of weird people out there who would enjoy seeing how MOSTLY working societies work. And there's also an abundance of characters in all of the Nordics. Hilsen fra Finland! Never change!

After every single video of herald what I feel is herald is the man who is in his mission accomplishment because he exhibits every video in a funny way. moreover his video is based on reality of our society and he knows that too because of that reason he makes a regular video not just for himself but also for the whole entire world who are surrounded by a social media nowadays. I suppose, he is one of the effective influencer in the world when it measures to you tube video and solo traveller... And also he is the tough guy we know how dare he can do and swim in every tough situation like freezing condition i am sure many of us must have been watched a video like that before on the various occasions.... well, having said all that I am the big fan of herald i have no offensive things against him , neither I feel wrong on him .he is the person that everyone needs to support him on his journey , let's not make him furious because he has done so many things to us through his videos and also he has left so many his personal things such as family members, friends and so on in the name of making you tube content... herald i want to meet you in personal if that is possible soon after this visit of Vietnam trip may in another trip especially in my country you know how it can be possible ..

As a South East Asian myself, I would recommend getting some sort of fried rice to go with your sweet and sour pork or similar stir fried type of dishes. Steamed white rice tastes bland without gravy or curry in my opinion.

Fully agreed Harald. The people are lovely and country beautiful, let’s leave it at that for now. Stay safe and sound! Make sure it’s not a Ding Dong so spend them all!
