At 24:05, what you drank is porridge (Uji in Swahili), specifically Uji wa mtama (porridge made from sorghum flour) not soup (supu in swahili). At 27:36, the guy is telling you to take the money you paid to the woman. He wanted to pay for you. And at 27:57, he is telling you he would like you to take him to Norway to see the place. Probably the most important words you may want to learn for your trip are: 1. Maji = Water; Chai = Tea; Chakula = Food 2. Asante = Thank you; Asante sana = Thank you very much 3. Karibu = Welcome ; Kwaheri = Bye bye 4. Ngapi? = How much (money)? Enjoy the rest of your adventure!

@HaraldBaldr3 жыл бұрын
"Those merchants could get 5-6 times the price in the U.S." - Sure I don't doubt that they'd cost more in the U.S. but most of that price hike reflects shipping costs, import fees, state sales tax, salary for sales staff and shop rental. Doubt these guys would make any more by shipping and selling in the US. Then there's potentially the cost of obtaining special permits for the wood etc. I know this is the case in Europe where we've banned the import of teak for example unless it comes with a special permit from a licensed producer.

Whereas on Harald's channel, it always brings a smile to your face after watching each of his vids, especially when he helps peeps who are struggling with their businesses, or do some fat tips to peeps who really deserve it and also when he give gifts to peeps who didn't expect it at all, like when he gifted this guy a whole new motorbike hehe, he doesn't care about money, keeps spreading the "federales researvos" 😅 All those true fans of Heraldo, who are here since day 1, know that Harald is such an amazing person with a golden heart, that's why they keep following him, on his journeys, and once a fan always a fan 🥰🥰 you rock Harald, and all those who just found Harald's channel, go start over his playlist, and keep watching since day 1 and trust me, you won't regret it such that you'll get addicted to his vids and his personality especially 🥰🥰

This reminded me of many places. I was there and in Mwanza, Shinyanga and Dar-es-Salaam for the elections in 1995 and spent almost 6 months. I love Tanzania and you know how to show it. Best wishes :)

I saw the Soviet apartment block! That is kind of cool and scary at the same time. Here is a bit of background: When the USA and the USSR were squabbling over Africa, the Soviet Union began sending experts and resources to allied countries and to possible allies in Africa and that Soviet Apartment Bloc you rode past as the result of one of such many agreements between Africa and the USSR. Cool huh?

And one morning on the streets of Zanzibar a Man on a cycle with a beautiful bag left the whole area wondering... Who is this whitie ? Did he reach his destination? More importantly did his almost falling apart cycle reach the destination? Did he return?
