Wow! that security guard is TOTALLY uneducated. I am hoping someday those people that work for that station can learn better that 1st amendment rights are allowed in a public property/transits and photography being welcomed in those places like Metro Link's stations according to the website's policy. Great job on being able to stand up for your rights to that security guard!

@@gluse If you encounter a situation where you feel your rights are being violated by security personnel on public transit, you should consider contacting the transit agency’s customer service or complaint department to report the incident. You can provide details of what happened, including the date, time, location, and names or descriptions of the security guards involved. Additionally, you may want to reach out to local advocacy groups or legal organizations that specialize in civil rights or transit-related issues for further assistance or guidance on how to address the situation. It’s important to document any interactions and gather evidence to support your complaint.

This security guard needs a reality check about first amendment rights and photography being allowed on the Metrolink system as it's a public transit system funded by US the taxpayers at the end of the day Great job on standing up for your rights!
@gluse
@gluse 9 ай бұрын
Exactly!!!! We own public transit systems in the United States of America because our tax money goes to pay for all of them. So MetroLink belongs to all of us. Now malls, office buildings, hotels, stores, restaurants, clubs, stadiums, museums and gas stations are different. Those places don't belong to us. They are privately owned and those aren't our buildings.

2:16. That guard was just flat out rude. I always hate it when dumb security guards have to give me an issue when filming elevators. I’ve had this problem at central market before with a really rude manager. Plus it reminds me of Stonebriar’s STUPID and RUDE security guards that almost chased me out of that mall of TRASH!!!!!!! But that situation was different because that mall is private property but THIS Security guard is clearly uneducated and I think he DEFINITELY needs to be fired because this is public property where we DO have filming rights. So that’s the reason why this guard who is harassing you is Squidward from SpongeBob and he is also an IDIOT!!!!!!!!!!! They need to teach the security guards on what the real rules are. Anyways awesome job standing up for your rights!

Something similar almost happened at a station parking garage in Asuza in the LA area. When I got off the elevator, a security car pull by me with the lights on. I just went back down the elevator. Was left alone after that. It was after I stopped filming.

Wow what a jerk that security guard is! Glad you were standing up for your first amendment rights! Either this guard is uneducated or wants control that he does not have. Even if this wasn't a public taypayer funded property, the website still says photography Is allowed. He should of not approached you guys the way he did. Didn't Jason film these elevators and a security guard asked what he was doing but once it was cleared up she left him alone? Still, this guard was insanely rude and handled the situation very inappropriately. File this to MetroLink! There's plenty of times elevator enthusiasts were asked to stop filming elevators and even leave private properties where the proper authority of the property were far more professional about it than this guy. Still, you violated zero rules and were exercising your first amendment rights. This just shows you that you still have to fight for your rights and study them so you know how to come across situations like this on public taxpayer funded property. MetroLink seems similar to the PATH system in New York.

I don't know what to say about security guards in general, except they really need to get their act together RIGHT NOW! Especially the unprofessional, uneducated ones. I don't know what the heck gives them the right to harass the elevator enthusiasts in this community because they're documenting all these elevators. And did this one really call the police on you?! If so, that is DEFINITELY harassment because filming elevators is not illegal by any means. I swear, there are 2 things security guards these days need to do right now: Get their act together, or be fired. Believe it or not, if I was in this situation, I would have someone like that framed for harassment. Too long have us elevator enthusiasts been at the mercy of these unprofessional workers.
