Harassed in Dar Es Salaam Ferry to Zanzibar 🇹🇿!!!

In this video we leave the busy city of Dar es Salaam and take the ferry to the island of Zanzibar! Once we got the ferry station, the hustlers surrounded our taxi and before we knew it, they were trying to hold our bags and belongings, and trying to convince us that we should follow them to the ticket office. As you can see, we were very frustrated, Jacky was even saying that she felt harassed, so we just had to escape them. We managed to get our own tickets and finally make our way to the ferry. The trip was smooth but once we got to our hotel in Zanzibar, we were met with another problem .. to our surprise the swimming pool was completely empt! Our hotel was not what we saw in the pictures and therefore we had to leave. Watch the video and see how we dealt with this new situation, and lastly ended our day with the wonderful Zanzibar sunset! The view of sunset made us forget all the hustle of getting from Dar to Zanzibar.

Egyptians do that a lot. They grab your bags almost by force and then angrily demand a tip.Other East Africans charge parks and transport as locals except Tanzania. Tanzania has not integrated well into the East African spirit. Charging Kenyans like foreign tourists is borderline criminal.

I am Burundian and when I have a chance to visit Burundi, I try to move around with my brother because people will notice that I am not familiar with many things and they will try to take advantage of me (although I speak Burundian language). I lived in Tanzania (worked mainly in Kahama, Nzega and Karagwe districts out of Dodoma) (1977-1982, 1984/1985), after I learned Swahili, only my coworkers knew that I was a foreigner. Now I get excited/feel some pride when I read about modern mines at former Bulyankulu Gold Exploration Project (Kahama) and Busolwangili Gold Exploration Project (Nzega). I would be extremely careful when dealing with local people/using public transport in many countries.

My friend I can not be harassed at the ferry and don’t show that and only show the blue waters. I am not that fake and if that’s the growth of the channels cost then I would rather remain small fam. Some think it’s reality other thinks it’s negativity. Look even at the comment section people perceive things differently and it’s okay.
