Harbor Freight Boat Trailer Tests!

In this video we do a compilation of using the Haror Freight trailer as a boat trailer and backing it into the water. So far it has worked reliably and flawlessly!

Thanks for the recognition! This trailer is a small pain to use and backup. But the storage works out decently since it can slide through small fence doors.

I have same size boat but in saturn brand, and same trailer I paid $500 , use it for freshwater my plan is paint with epoxy to prevent rust and install a 6 foot hitch extension, cause is a nighmare at the docking lunch, but the pros is you can fold it to storged and easy to customize, have fun guys the rest of the summer.

Great video ! I have the same size boat with a gas motor on it. Can you give me a list of the lumber and supplies needed to build the same set up. I am going to buy a Trailer soon and would like to do it up like yours. What are the sizes of the lumber when they are cut? Thanks very much !

I used 2 2x6x8 pressure treated fence wood. I used the existing holes in the trailer to mount the bunks and 4 inch pvc pipes for the wood to set the height. My current setup is slightly different from the one I in the video and works a little better

Does you trailer rust from saltwater? How do u prevent that?

Unfortunately all trailers will rust even the real boat trailers if used in water with time, but much faster in salt water. The best way to prevent this I can think of is rinsing the trailer after use, or dip the trailer into a freshwater ramp afterwards. Galvanized steel bolts are the most corrosion resistant bolts you can use on your trailer. My trailer does have rust on the u bolts and the leaf springs. I think the rust happened mainly from the trip I took to half moon bay in the saltwater. Trailer seems to be holding up fine as it is only surface rust so far. My trailer stays in the garage.

Is it just my harbor freight or did they raise the prices of the trailers to $500, every one on KZbin says they got theirs for like $350

You are right! This is the cheaper 4 lug trailer that went for $350. I went back around 3 weeks later after I purchased it to harbor freight and looked at the prices and it seemed to have raised around $100 in price! Looks like I grabbed one right on time. A lot of places around me didn’t even have them in stock so I had to drive a couple of cities over. I still want to find the bolt-on landing gear that they sell but they are out with only the weld-ons in stock.
