Interesting adaptation of the car port cover. The 6 extra screws and nuts are used to attach the plastic base plates to the vertical post. Happy to see you are anchoring the cover frame to the ground, a good summer thunderstorm will take that entire unit across town if not anchored.

Yep, your correct. But, I only use this cover when I'm out of town. the longest use so far is 14 days. I just returned (2 days ago) from Alaska. That is now the longest it's been up. For ME, putting up the cover and taking it down is just a thing I do. It is Wedged between my house and a fence. when all said and done there is less than 1/2 inch space left on the fence side and Zero space up against the house, that's why I only use 3 tie down and frankly the feet don't matter for me. I use them but for such a short time the bolts don't matter. I also don't use all the poles, I don't use the upper poles (#4?) of the "foot/leg" poles for just the reasons you mentioned - wind. So when it's up, it's still a couple inches below the top of a 6 ft. fence. That said, My sister has 2 of these and they used All the screws, All the poles and All the tie downs and have installed them completely and correctly. Frankly I did not because I don't have the need to. Thanks for checking out my video! I hope it helped in some way.

Did you have trouble getting the cover on? I can’t get mine on. I have to stretch it about 6 inches

Yes, to a certain point. I / we had to stretch it a lot (5-6in) after attaching it on the one side. the first few I had to put my foot on it and pull, My wife then attached the bungee cord to it. We attached the 1st one, then those next to the poles and the last one. We then attached all the ones in the middle. the rest were much easier after doing those 6.
