You definitely got a good deal.I just bought mine new a few weeks a go.With tax,it was a little over $142

The one thing with electric chipper/shredders which have me curious is if they'll run sufficiently by solar power. Thought of that for those cleaning up after hurricanes/tornadoes. Sort of like the Earthwise model better because of the bowl for a top and a small container to catch the finished product. Just wish they could do better on leaves for fall cleanups.

DON'T BUY. I've worked in forestry and used many different types of chippers. Though I'm not such a snob that I do understand that homeowners want something small, but this is a really terrible machine. So much so that I feel morally obliged to write in the comments of everyone of these reviews. Can't chip anything. Jams constantly. These machines will fill our landfills along with the branches they were unable to chip.

Never had any problem with mine.Directions say don't out in anything over 1 1/2" in diameter.
