The magnets will mess with the weld. I use them to hold the metal while I tack them together. After whatever is tacked remove the magnets and weld.

Thanks for the tip that makes since cause the metal would be magnetized then it would be pulling on ur weld too

Remember to v grind your metal so that you will fill in the V and you will get better penetration

Yea I didnt think bout doing that I just ground the rust protection layer off they put on the metal cause I didnt know if it would effect the weld.

Live and learn before long you will be welding and thing's will be solid and permanent just listen to your welder it will talk to you
