Great and clear how to video! Alternatively, you could have mounted the reel to a 2' piece of 2"X 6". Drill holes on the 2x6 and mount it to the reel using 2" bolts and nuts, counter sunk on the side that will be against the beam. Then lag bolt the 2X4 to the beam. Thanks!

I pulled the hose reel completely off, made it real easy. I did mount it 8' high. In this case it would have made sense since tension was way off anyway.

NIce video - two thoughts: Shouldn't you wrap the plumber's tape in the direction of the joint - wrap the male threads clockwise and then the female onto the male clockwise? 2nd - the reel isn't going to be moving around, why did you need the swivel fitting there - do you move your air compressor during the day? You wind the tape in the wrong direction and I would put a water separator in the line after the compressor

If it works, it works. I had the same problem with mine out of the box with about 5’ of hose still not retracting, I’m going to give that a try!

That very much is adjusting the tension... relative to the hose. Being wrong, while adding a syde laughing emoji looks extra bad.
