I would love to see more about that dump trailer you built. I’ve thought about doing something similar. Looks good.

Thanks for taking the time to make this video. It could barely load into a small pickup truck. I know there's two setting on the boom though.

There are two pin locations where the lift cylinder attaches to the main support (closest to the operator). That is the position you would use if you are doing shallower work and/or you need to lift higher for loading or transport clearance. Some people put a D handle hitch pin from a farm supply in that location so that they can quickly pull that pin to change from one pin location to the other in the field without tools. Your machine has more high loading capability than you think it does.

Is it easy to move the unit around without a small tractor or truck if you were working in a tight location? It looks like you can move it a little with the bucket pushed down and then extending the boom to move the unit. Is this easy to accomplish? I need to get in a backyard to dig a trench and do not have a small yard tractor to pull it into position. Thanks for any info.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly20234 жыл бұрын
You can move it with the bucket if you have a 7 ft wide path. Turning it around with the bucket takes a big area. Rent a mini excavator if it's tight. Thanks for watching.

you sure do have alot of toys. I wonder if you can changed the controls to the 2 lever joystick type like most backhoes have.

I am sure you can, but it would most likely cost almost as much as the trencher did.

all you have to do is move one brackets the pins are the same just have to widen the bracket and mine I put lights on it I would like to see more videos of you using it I like the one when you we're taking the stump I hope you do Anthony one like that
@unemployedredneckhillbilly20238 жыл бұрын
I wish that the motor had a generator so I could add lights. I just tackled a stump that is over 2 1/2 feet diameter where it was cut. I have 6 hours of digging in it and it is only 1/2 dug out I may try and video the second half of digging it out. This stump has layer after layer of very large roots. I have my doubts about the trencher being able to get it out of the hole.
@Lanninglongarmmowing8 жыл бұрын
It looks like you have the pin on the lift cylinder closest to you on the lower setting. You could go higher I think.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly20238 жыл бұрын
It will go slightly higher on the shallow location, but the bucket does not curl enough and most of the load will fall out if it is not sod. The higher you go the closer the truck would have to be also. It would be great to find one of those Dihatsu mini dumps from Europe with sides that fold down as they sit very low.
@Lanninglongarmmowing8 жыл бұрын
Unemployed Redneck Hillbilly Creations Yeah that is true. You would have to park the truck or trailer close to the backhoe. Dr power equipment sells a somewhat large power cart/wheelbarrow that is rather low to the ground. That would be nice to have to go along with this machine. I am thinking about starting a small excavating business with this machine someday soon. No trailer needed to tow it on the road even though they say it's not road towable. A large powered wheelbarrow would fit in the back of a truck. It has a lot going for it even though it's not that pricey.
@unemployedredneckhillbilly20238 жыл бұрын
It would be nice if the powered wheelbarrow was able to tow the trencher once you got to the jobsite. I would put better axles and hubs on it to go more then a couple of miles, and check if it will need lights or fenders to tow in your location. It would work great for small jobs like burying water or electrical lines. If you made a set of narrow axles it could get in some toght places.

have you tried removing the teeth off the bucket so you can have more of a flat edge of the bucket instead of the teeth digging in the ground that hard theres a video on youtube someone did that did a landscapers bucket ??
@unemployedredneckhillbilly20238 жыл бұрын
The teeth are not removable so It would require another bucket. That would be a good idea for soft ground, but the teeth are required to get it digging in rocky soil. Thanks for watching my video.

Those DR buckets look nice, how easy is it to modify them to make them work with the Harbor Freight unit? I would really like to get the ripper for removing roots. I can see many mods to mine in the future also.Thanks for watching my video.
@dodgeme1986truck Жыл бұрын
@@unemployedredneckhillbilly2023 you can modify the trencher backhoe to a quick coupling setup by making a plate that duplicates the bucket mount spacing on one side to mount on the machine then duplicates the machine mount spacing for the bucket/ other tools on the other side to attach the bucket/other tools to you can use standard pins with quick clips on the bucket side for rapid change outs. Also you can add lighting by upgrading the engine to a 13hp engine, turning the pump mounting plate 1/4 turn and adding a pulley to the coupling joint for a belt drive, add a small alternator with mount, add a battery, and wire it up.

they may be slightly jerky but they make up for it in durability I have one that is going on 5 yrs. old that has lifted boulders that were 2-1/2 feet in diameter and weighed in excess of 500 lbs. digs trees and stumps regularly and has over 800 hrs. on it with only needing a few minor wear parts.
