Agree. The green arrow permits them to turn right but the red ball means no going straight. I guess they saw green out of corner of the eye or something? It’s a good thing this camera doesn’t let them go unnoticed.

I was in an almost identical accident. I had a 2005 chevy silverado 1500 and got tboned by a ram 1500 going 65 mph in a 45mph zone. The G forces are exhilarating! Puts you into complete shock and not knowing wtf just happened. Although I was the one who made a left turn without an arrow she was found at fault because of her speed and (witness statement) she had PLENTY of time to stop. They even said it looked like she aimed at me for the “hit me so I can sue”.

Nope, last night. Timestamp 6/21/2024, 00:03 and change--that's 12:03 AM. Camera is located in California. Took about 22 hours, assuming the timestamp is correct. And I'd be willing to bet the police department's been waiting for this video to come out... something about confirming their suspicions.

@@friantroulette if you watch dash cam channels, people *always* say they had a green when the run a red, regardless of right turn arrows being involved as is the case here. people will confabulate whatever they need to avoid blaming themselves

Warning lights need to be put up for that intersection, letting people know the light will be changing / has changed. Will it stop accidents? No It MIGHT cut them down. Also, lowering the speed limit from 50 to 45 or 40 MIGHT help. MIGHT.

If a speeding drivers are so distracted or just driving poorly that they don't react properly to a yellow traffic light, what makes you think warning lights or speed limit signs will change their behavior. What needs to happen is what the Netherlands have been doing for years: instead of implementing unnecessarily wide multilane highways, design streets where people feel uncomfortable speeding and driving distracted. This is the only way to encourage drivers to slow down and drive attentively.

@@MarioLorenzo Posted speed limit on the main road outside of my neighbourhood: 25mph. Average speed - 35mph + It's a 2 lane road with the occasional center turn lane for businesses and apartments. AND there are a couple of curves and a "blind hill". And yes - On some of the higher speed roads (45mph +), yellow warning lights HAVE cut down on collisions. But hey, be a satchel of richards at a suggestion. 🖕🖕

@@SirBarth You need to watch Not Just Bike's videos "Traffic Calming is Everywhere in the Netherlands" and "Stroads are Ugly, Expensive, and Dangerous (and they're everywhere) [ST05]" or several other urban planning videos about calming traffic and reducing auto deaths. Then go watch any of Speed Bump Olympics videos and watch people speed through speedbumps even though there is warning signage everywhere for the speed limit, speed bumps, and school zone. Then you'll understand why your solution is just papering over the problem. And nice touch on the double middle fingers. I bet you're very proud of yourself

Do you know what kind of cluster that would be? To go what would be a mile along Friant to the next corner after this it would be a 4 miles detour from Friant and Audubon to Friant and Ft. Washington. And that's assuming people don't cut through the neighborhood on Cole to Millbrook.
