I am getting back out there soon to fish the rest of the river in that area. Yeah, it was tough fishing to be sure. Those big fish will come out though if you approach it right. That cover under the water is super sketchy though when you are battling larger trout. I didn't see much action or fish everywhere in the river but choice spots held several. You just have to be willing to walk a bit to find them.

Yeah, I wasn't running into fish everywhere. As you stated, it took a lot of walking and finding them. For the first hour I didn't see a single fish.

It's a lot of walking to get out there but I like it. I love fishing rivers with a lot of boulders but with trout like that, I'm in!

I've fished there alot. There is only one spot which you were close that holds fish. Otherwise forget.

I only really ran into fish in 4 or 5 deep spots near the bank in the two days I fished it. I was surprised to not get ant hits or follows in a few other spots. This stretch takes a lot of walking and looking.

Off of the 108 upstream from the Marine Mountain training center. Not far from the 395. Hard fighting fish.

there are not to many undercut banks because those cows Destroy them when they come down for water it is a shame.

They do but their are some. This was a section of river where you kind of had to pick your spots to target and when you did you had to make the most of it. The chunks of earth and vegetation that fall in the water from the collapsing high banks form great habitat for the browns to hide in. Problem is that they are tough to fish over without getting hung up in the roots and if the fish swim into them it can be very stressful trying to get them out. I think there was a demonstration of that with the brown in this clip! I was almost able to get him out of the roots with my net before he swam free and I was able to battle it in open water.
