Awesome video! From what I remember that John Ross S&W has a faster twist rate to better stabilize the 600-700 grain projectiles. And the reason for the muzzle nut in lieu of a compensator was to allow for a tighter cylinder gap for better velocity. And also “less” muzzle blast. Side note, I have that same .480 Ruger Super Blackhawk Bisley and those are fantastic guns in a fantastic cartridge.

@@1014p when the chronograph read 2000+ for these loads, I thought it was broken until I shot a few H110 loads to confirm. I shot a few more (2169, 2158), did the math, and calculated them to be near the 60K psi proof rating for the cylinder then inspected the revolver timing, gap, etc. Never loading those again lol, they were supposed to be at about 1500 ft/sec for the 350gr, I believe it had to do with the shallow seating depth/powder combination. Even more interesting is that they were Berry’s plated bullets. Live and learn.

18:14 I am extremely entertained. The slow mo shot were hilarious, and that flail looks as dangerous as a hand cannon.

I was impressed by how smooth that .350 Legend was. Firing it from a rifle they're fairly mild in terms of recoil but out of a revolver, that's pretty sweet. .500 Magnum though is, and always will be, my favorite.

Demo Matt, who was my former property owner adjacent to mine, has an awesome KZbin channel, but Scott you hands down are the best and most accurate shooter out of all of the gun channels that I watch!

The John Ross 500 magnum is my favorite. I had no idea they ever made that. Of course it's a 5" barrel too 😁

Those shooting poses have already garnered my down payment on a calendar, Scott!

The Ross models are extremely rare. They are what John envisioned as the most powerful but still portable/packable revolver to be made. Hopefully you also have his accompanying booklet with the revolver.
