We don't a community no more. We have lots of gurdwaras ( for different castes sadly). We are slowly dying. Lots of gurdwaras are always empty. If each town had two gurdwaras they would never be empty and we would all come together.

Its clever how guru nanak dev ji asked about by an physical example of showing em by throwing water in opposite direction , without going to em with ego , anger and to bash their ignorance , he chose this path of a real life example through vichaar

The purpose of Gurdwaras is for providing services to the communities in which they serve.. Feeding the hungry, clothing the poor, and community service in general. High schools kids at one point needed community service hours on their college applications, not the case today for most colleges today here in the U.S. Aren't we supposed to be politically active bringing about positive change to the world in that way? Serving humanity is most important.. Trying to tell a thinking, curious mind that THIS is the way to serve GOD is totally against the basic human essence of questioning WHY.

Sikhism, is it a nation or a religion? If it is a religion then surely it should be more accessible to people in other languages. The message is great but a lot of what I have heard is about a particular community and protecting that. That is understandable but I think it also segregates the message away from the masses who need to hear it.
