Thats correct, it only resets the phone. And you can use iTunes to get all your data back.

para if you forgot your restriction pw there is a link called inoparentcontrol and it would take that off of the phone and btw you will have to search it up on safari and press the website link to successfully download it and all you have to do is go to settings and press profile downloaded
