Jim's fingerstyle blues lessons jimbruceguitar.com/texasdeltalessons/ Support me on Patreon and access all my private lessons www.patreon.com/JimBruceAcousticBluesGuitarLessons/posts Skip James was an unusual bluesman with a delicate feel for the guitar and unusual, complex melodies that suited his high-pitched voice.
Hard Time Killin' Floor is played in open C guitar tuning with a lot of feeling - it's a challenge to play it with the same intensity.

One of my favorite songs of all time , On my first Album I had three covers this being one of them , since I have opened with it for years, I figured out a way to do it in E and D standard since I mostly play Piedmont style. excellent video Mr. Bruce .

That's awesome! Care to make a tutorial to teach us how you do it in standard? :-)

Clip 3 is unclear. Notation does not fit very much with playing (first slides ends at A, not Bb; bass tones seems to be an F instead of the noted D). And generally I miss rhythmic notations here.

I noticed this as well. The tab also indicates the open D as the first bass note but you can see an F is fretted.

The 2nd string on Open D is A, not G...slip of the tongue...
