The court system is actually like that, too. That's why people who are victims of burglaries should just grab the nearest gun and blow the robber's head off. A bit messy, sure, but the coroner will get paid for cleaning your kitchen up after taking a couple of pictures, and in states like Texas or Kentucky, you'd most likely get off scott-free.

Its pretty fun for a day or two. But it gets pretty repetitive. There is a mobile version though (which is 2d, but better imo) which I'd recommend more. It is way newer, was released a few years ago if I remember correctly. The original hard time was solo developed mdickie (check out his website). I think he coded his own engine and also uses that for pretty much all games. They were all made like 10 years ago, so you might have some trouble running it on your pc.
