I enjoyed learning about threads I haven't used yet. Thank you.

The Altin Basak is a Turkish thread and I love it, it is one of my favorite threads. It doesn't take too well to untatting tho :) I found it here- www.tatting.co.uk/threads.htm Loads of colors! Don't get me wrong, I love Lisa's site she does carry a variety of threads, But not a lot of the Altin Basak. I think there is close to 4 or maybe 500 yds on that little ball of thread! I know I am on round 12 of Renulek's Sunflower doily and I still have a bunch of thread left on that ball. I'm glad to see you promoting some of these harder to find threads! I know I searched high and low for more colors of the Altin Basak and it is indeed a rare thread in the states. I guess when tatting went under the radar, so did a lot of these company's production of threads for tatting... so many have been discontinued. Tatting is alive and well right now and so I hope our threads don't all disappear into somebody's stash!!

I am not sure if the Altin Basak is still in production or not but I will pass along the info to Lisa and see what she says about it. Then I will get back to you on that as soon as she lets me know. If she is not going to carry it then maybe she can hook you up with someone that does in all the colors. Happy Tatting
