some people have been saying something that is a common balance team is volcarona rilla + water type (usually tauros) and then usually gengar/ghost sometimes basculegion, kingambit and clefairy, although I haven't seen it win anything yet necessarily so I'm holding out before saying it's "the balance team" despite how common it is

I'm personally a huge fan of this format so far, because while the most prominent archetypes are psyspam, dozo, and rain, they're all archetypes that were either solved in previous formats in the case of psyspam and dozo, or easy to put together in the case of rain. There's still a bunch of unexplored stuff that people just haven't tried yet and I love that the format has so much potentially fun stuff waiting to be discovered.

a very funny way to bully these teams is to use weezing. neutralising gas prevents rain, terrain, intimidate, prankster and so many other abilities that mons rely on, and if you build your team properly you can shut them down so hard that even with weezing stuck on the field you can tear through them, especially if you use slaking, mons that don't care about their abilities or something with ability shield. weezing was even more ridiculous in reg g thanks to ability shield koraidon, but it's still good

I think the closest thing we have to balance rn is incine, rilla, and prema. It's an amazing core, but that's about as far as the format has in the way of "balance".

Regarding the #1 team, I think Gallade's Psycho Cut + Sharpness + Psychic Terrain + Scope Lens could rip a hole in the opposing teams, also i think it has pretty could synergy with Indeedee not sharing any weaknesses. I played just 3 games in this tournament and was surprised to not see Ursaluna BM higher, I encountered it on each opposing team and it gave me trouble

I've been playing around with a soft trick room team with (currently) farigiraf and sinistcha as TR options and the rest just being solid mons with low-middling speed stats: Incin, Primarina, Ursaluna, Kingambit are my current four, but I'm really not sure how I feel about gambit atm. It feels like there should be a good team there, but I haven't quite found the best way to make it work yet.

I agree with your take at the end of the video. Im not a balance player per say. Id describe my style is bulky offense and priorty spam. A good example is Michael Kelsch's worlds team. Bulky offense that uses a lot of priority. To use that archetype well their needs to be balance style teams that can check the rest of the meta you can blow up. With the way the meta is now i just dont find my style of team to really have a place yet. Arch, dozo, and psyspam all cause way too many issues in using the archetype effectively. I hope a balance team is found that takes over and puts all the other archetypes in the back seat so then players like me can come in and blow up the balance teams lol

I don't play balance but I'm calling the meta to stabilize on Incineroar, Rillaboom, and Aqua-Tauros. Either that or sub in Palafin. The water type of the trio seems to be the the offensive leaning piece to the defensive Incineroar and hybrid Rillaboom. Slap on a choice band on the bull or band/water on the dolphin and basically play bargin bin Urshifu.
