I'll say this. Icy Mike does not know how good a trainer he is. I have not seen better. It's not always about super high attributes, or size or tats. It's about being able to convey. Being able to recall physically and display. It's about PMA. He gets A+ in all of these. Back in the day we did not have bags like these, video feedback, clean gyms. We had dirty concrete floors, crappy canvas bags hung at the wrong height, or bring your own bag. Thanks again for such great videos, Icy Mike. Wonderful, wonderful as L. Welk used to say.

Something I really like to do (i.e. when I don't have much time). Round 1 - Endless Combo (keep striking and kicking with right form and moderate speed) for 3 minutes Round 2 - One exercise for reps (i.e. kettlebell swings) but not until failure. Stop when you could have done 5-8 reps more. Round 3 - Rubber band throws (watch your footwork) for 2 minutes Repeat until 1 hour is gone or you are totally gassed. Only things needed is a weight of your choice (can be a kettlebell, barbell, sandbag or whatever you want, weight on the lighter side), a heavy bag and a long rubber band. And your phone or a timer.

great video as always, I always envy your hand skills, you're really good at boxing. to get that right leg into the left hook, you should kick using your hip but without rotating your upper body, it's more a Kyokushin type kick, not a muay thai one. it allows for an easier transition from feet to hands.

the rear round kick followed by lead hook never worked for me on the heavy bag if it's a pulled back check hook, always out of range. it worked in sparring couple of times when my partner tried the basic check counter(in open stance). but when they don't come forward the only thing works for me was dipping my head to the left and throw weird half straight half hook shit, somewhat look like the one robert whittaker was using. maybe it works cause imma southpaw

Everyone has mixed opinions about martial arts. Some will say that boxing is effective, while others say that karate and judo are practical. It's their opinion. But the most decisive factor of winning the battles is none other than you yourself. If you believe you will win, yes you will. If we know ourselves and our enemies, then we know the situation, we can turn the things into a desired outcome. That's the art of war.

Nice! I add burpees in to simulate if I slip or get knocked down to put in that added stress on the legs when you stand back up. Also will shoot in on the bag and lift it a little to simulate a take down from the waste or getting the back while standing. But all and all good tips for building muscle memory, great conditioning to. You get in your mid fifties and all the sudden your fighting with your self to keep that natural vigor you once had, tough cookie to swallow. Keep up the good work. I bounce back and fourth between a modern Kung Fu school and a MMA club the young ones sometimes take it easy on me and other times push me hard. Started with traditional martial arts way before the invention of MMA, first martial art was Roman Greco wrestling then Judo in the late 70s early 80s, but still having fun with it!
