no. hardcore pvp enabled worldwide and you can attack your own allies. major cities are safe from pvp unless you are already under attack of player, then it gives both of you 1 minute debuff where each of you can attack each other. and dungeons/raids are also safe cause you dont want to accidentally load your damage stuffs onto defending tank accidentally.

That whole duel is a stalemate in Goldshire. LoSing invalidates the duel. If the mage goes inside the warrior wins, but if the warrior stays outside then the mage wins. So if the warrior stays inside and the mage stays outside it's just a stalemate. And that's what we spent 3 minutes watching

If you are used to clicking at very high speed like you would do in MOBA or FPS, you just need a few keybinds for defensive/panic button and be aware of your UI and where you set those shortcuts. Hardcore Challenge: Independence - You are not allowed to pick up ANY quests, all XP will be grinded through mob kills. Not even bags. - You can only gear up through item drops from mobs, or from personal crafting professions. - You may change professions at any time. Optional: - You may decide if you want to allow flightpaths or not. Keep in mind travel costs will sting you a lot more anyway. Problems to overcome: - Monetary issues. With no access to quest income, or the auction house, or trading, you will be dirt poor. You need to find a way to fund your professions and your class abilities. - Gearing. You need to spend the time collecting resources, or be lucky with drops. - You better hope you get some early bag drops! - Constantly have to be in level relevant mob zones, no XP is free. Why this challenge is interesting: - Engineering is no longer the be all end all of professions, unless you're a hunter maybe. You need access to a stable source of gear. - You need to balance your resources a lot more and make sacrifices. - For several classes, their builds will be greatly off-meta as you won't have access to abilities given through class quests. - You have to embrace the suck and test your patience.

There isn't much reason to go for the scary named mobs inside big keeps when you don't have quests for anything. But this is more of a patience and resource type challenge. I already feel the coin pouch scream for help and I have to be careful about what to train. Definitely is a different hardcore feeling
