It was a sunny, classic day in the village. I was farming away my crops, with my little farm, just like any other day. We met at the center of our village, just like any other day. We napped after work, just like any other day. We were crying in our sleep, just like any other day, because of the other villages in the world. They were constantly being kidnapped by random people who would put them in little holes and houses, selling goods to the villagers. All of us were blessed not to be taken yet. Then, the weirdest thing happened. At the corner of my eye, there was this little bar that popped up saying these exact words: GeminiTay joined the game. “Huh?” We all wondered. Then there was a voice. Not a voice of a villager, not a cat, not a pillager. A new voice. Some of us ran into our homes to watch through our windows. Some of us ran to the center for our daily meeting. Some of us just carried on with our work. But I was none of those people. Nothing interesting had ever happened to me, not once. I was curious, and nothing was stopping me from following the voice. As I got closer, it became more clear. It was a voice of a girl, it sounded like she was talking to someone. “Hello villagers! Excuse me!” She said sweetly. Then she started taking handfuls of hay and admiring the “kittys”. She quickly passed me and carried on talking to… someone. I was still very confused and curious, so I turned around and watched her take apples from my dear friend’s chest. I wanted to shout at her to stop, but she seemed stronger than myself. A kidnapper… I thought. She walked up to me. It was a scary moment. “Ello farmer! Whoa, cool trades!” She exclaimed sweetly. “Thank you-” I said under my breath. I followed her and saw that she rescued my friend who had been trapped in his house for weeks, because a tree had blocked his door. She cut through the leaves saying “Hey dude!” and entered his house. He didn’t have much, and he would be happy as long as she didn't touch his furnaces. “WHAT?” She shouted suddenly, looking through his chest of goods. She found iron, his bread, a sword, a thing we call “obsidian”, a helmet, and the most precious thing of all, a glittery blue stone which I call a diamond. It was so precious and smooth. I have only ever held it once, for a split second. I have heard tales of strangers like her, having armour made of those beautiful gems. Then, I had an idea. I would call her Gem. "This stuff is so good!" she exclaimed holding the things in her hands. Again, Gem headed to my farm, and collected a bit of water from it, not bothering my work. I soon decided that she would not hurt us, but instead, help. Gem headed to the nearby creepy woods, and chopped down some trees. My friends soon came out of their houses, and declared we must have a meeting the next day. It soon became night, and we all ran quickly into our houses. Zombies were coming. It was going to be another scary night, where zombies and skeletons and creepers and witches, came banging on our doors to kill us. I went into my bed, and closed my eyes. Seconds later, or so it felt, it was morning. “What? Morning already!” My neighbor said, coming out of her house. But I had no time to wonder about that. She headed off to far away lands away from the village and came back unharmed an hour later. She really is brave. I thought. I watched her dig a straight hole in the ground next to her cows, and she filled it up with water. “I’d really love to wall off this village, to be honest.” she said. Before I could think anymore of it, villagers started declaring our meeting. Gem was away, doing who knows what, so it was the perfect time to talk about her. We all gathered in the center of our village and walked around until the weapon smith said something. “Listen up! This stranger has gone into our village, and we are scared. WHat do you think we should do, farmer?” The weapon smith was the richest out of all of us, so we had him leading us, until he got locked up in his house because of the tree. He was back now though, so he was our leader again. He had called on me, of all the people. “Farmer! You were brave, and you followed the stranger around. What do you think of her?” the weapon smith asked, with a stern face. “Well, I thought she was scary at first, but she built a cow pen for us and didn’t trample our crops.” I said, looking at the ground. “But she stole our hay!” one villager yelled. “And my house and bed!” another said. “I am aware of that. But listen to me. This is very important for me to tell you. She is planning to build something. She said she would like to wall our village off. A wall! A wall to protect us! We must treat her nicely if she is going to protect us. And I heard she is going to build her own home, so you must not worry.” I said, now with my chin up. “She is going to build a wall? This is fantastic! Never again will we have to face the scary world of zombies, pillagers, creepers, skeletons, witches and other things!” The weapon smith was very happy with my research. “What should we call her?” asked the librarian. “She will be named after the stones and glistening rocks under the dirt we stand on. She will be named Gem.” I declared. “Meeting dismissed.” the weapon smith yelled, clapping his hands. It was official. We had a new protector. And her name was Gem. THE END!!
