Thanks for this! I’m a Metal-Head who’s really starting to get into punk as well (Especially PowerViolence with bands like Extortion and also Ceremony’s old stuff). It took me almost a year and a half to learn all the Metal genres. Because of how much I enjoy Music History/Theory, it was fun. I noticed Punk had a lot less but I didn’t know what they all sounded like/ song examples of each genre. 🤘 Edit: I did not know that Metalcore, Beatdown, Ect. (Metal x Punk crossovers were in this too) Metalcore and Groove Metal are my favorite metal genres!

Great compilation, missed Straight Edge Hardcore ás it was played by bands like Unbroken, Chokehold, Strain, Earth Crisis, Undertow, Culture, Morning Again, Canon and so on. But this can be also put like Disembodied and bands like Deadguy and Botch in Old Metalcore. Also Political Hardcore is missing like Groundwork or Born Against but Hardcore was mostly political. So very good job done!

Ska Punk is Punk Rock with Ska, then there is Skacore which is Ska with Hardcore Punk, while Crack rock stedy would be more aggressive Skacore influenced by Crust Punk.

There is so much more variety and important bands within Metalcore. Also calling ETID "modern" is an odd choice. They might have pioneered modern metalcore with Underoath, but they were doing it decades ago. Modern changes with time. I would say modern metalcore would be Knocked Loose, Counterparts, Khubli Khan, Jesus Piece, etc.

I found blackgaze (Rosetta, City of Caterpillar, DeafHeaven) and that rocks but irs not melodic enough. I like 5th wave emo but its not heavy and crunchy enough. basically I need Punk goes Pop 11 any suggestions????

Crossover can be considered a sub genre of both Hardcore and Thrash. Some bands lean a little more one way or the other but fit fine in crossover
