I have always liked Korn but when I had a serious setback in my life I listened to the lyrics a little more closely. Now I love Korn.

This is why they are still going strong. Teenagers of this generation can still connect with these guys, while other bands devolve and fizzle out.

I’ll say this. This band has been through so much and still puts out more great albums like every 2-3 years. They are not scared to try different things. Some disagree but Ray is a much better drummer then David ever was. I think he was the perfect pick up. If you don’t know much about Ray just pull up his interviews. He’s such a different but perfect addition to Korn.

Korns new album is gonna be boss, A diffrent world, Insane, Rotting in vain, they are all great and sound like old school korn, like early to late 90's korn.

anyone saying they sound the same now are lying to themselves.... when David left the band they changed... Head is now some kinda Christian and so is Fieldy, it makes them less edgy imo... They will never sound like they did back in '99... I almost feel like they're now making records cause they feel obligated to do so...
@waranghira
@waranghira 7 жыл бұрын
^That last point tho, I don't think that's the reason. It's just that that's what they know how to live (and make a living), they're musicians/artists, so they continue to do what they know.
@travisspaulding9540
@travisspaulding9540 4 жыл бұрын
HeidiTheChubbyBunny what a dense thing 😂 they changed because firstly, head left and that cut the bands sound in half and then David by that point was already losing his passion for playing in the band. Korn was broken. As soon as head got back, their sound was back, just an updated version.

They're old now so they don't have the same energy they had back in the day. They can't be this way for their entire lives. They are musicians and they like to make music.

I'm so glad I saw koRn play their first album through in London. It was THE most intense gig I have ever been too and Ive been going to live shows since 1990. The energy just built and built and by the time Daddy started everyone was almost quiet. I wanted to say to the JD, it's ok, you don't have to sing this, but he did and wow. The band were tight as fuck and it was genuinely unforgettable. Thank you koRn.

Munky messed around with 8 strings on See You On The Other Side and Untitled. Don't really know which songs, but it makes sense, because a lot of those songs don't sound stereotypically Korn like.

3:17 - JD states that he uses stream of consciousness when writing the story/premise for his lyrics. I too use that method when writing my stories. 9:30 - As a writer myself I know exactly what JD is referring to when he says he doesn't consciously think about the words, he essentially enters a realm of in-between consciousnesses and unconsciousness and the words aren't necessarily coming from him through conscious thought - this is the true state of' 'STREAM OF CONSCIOUSNESS'. A state that many great artists/writers/composers, etc have found themselves in and when they 'come to' and look upon the completed work that lay before them and realize it is a masterpiece yet again they will tell you every time that this masterpiece of artistry had not come from them, but rather THROUGH them.

Elleanor Gray You can believe the lyrics come from nowhere. I'll believe they come from somewhere. You can deny it if you want but he just described to you how it works. Whether you take what I said into account either way it's still obscure strange you'd rule it out.

I'd love to see them do an album where they're all recording and writing in the studio together. I'm 50/50 on recording separately/isolated from each other. I love their new album, but I'm curious what they would create if they were locked in a studio together for 3 months, no separately recording/writing.

Fieldy and Head did one of those kids interviewing Rock stars interviews, and one of the questions they got asked was something to the effect of “if your wealth was based on how much sleep you get, would you be rich or poor?”. I can’t remember how it was asked exactly but that was the gist of the question. Head said he would be rich and Fieldy said he would be middle class.

Ryan Siriwardene that song came out in 1998, he married Deven in like 2006, so it can't possibly be about her. I'm pretty sure that song is about a fetish he and his wife at the time shared, which had to do with asphyxiation during climax.

"Your rich what can you complain about!" I hate this ig ornate world view specially when we see suicide and death among these "can't complain about anytjing" people. Life still happens your thighs still happen. Dissapintments and trials. Doesn't matter how much money you have. Jd has his child hood, fighting to be sober, drama with his friends and inner circles, child has diabetes, wife now passed away Life can feel and often is just one thing after another. I love his realism and not pushing this celebrity life style of "I'm perfect and my life is perfect because I have money and fame so I can never feel sad or stressed and nothing bad ever happens to me " That's a modern version of the lie that is the American dream lie. That money=happiness. Pure untouched happiness
