Anyway, if you want a real challenge that will make you lose the rest of your hair, try making Teddy Merovighi the emperor of Francia while playing as a French count on ironman, early start. Time pressure, breeding problems, being buried under dukes so you can't faction, Charlemagne being impossible. That has it all. The one time I managed it, one of his grandsons failed to pray the gay away and then got castrated in a dungeon somewhere. Then the entire dynasty died on me. Glorious chaos but no more Merovingians.

(I love how IN Crusader Kings, if you play well enough, you can bring Cornwall from a tiny vassal with a single county all the way to ruling England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland, and a good chunk of France. You could go further, but that's where ManyaTrueNerd ended his series. And he'd only played the game once to learn some of the basic mechanics before his series. Imagine what a pro with 1000s of hours could do, in a much shorter time frame.)

I bet your rulers have garbage education probably part of the reason why you get constant rebellions. Also before you go to war if your going to hire mercenaries hire them before you declare and then have them arrive in your enemies county a day before you declare way. Therefore when they raise their levies yoy can crush them with full organisation mercenaries. Also upgrade your direct holdings and pay for routines. Routines fight much much better than levies and mercs even. I have been outnumbered 5:1 sometimes with decent commanders and still won because I was fighting levies when I was commanding routines primarily. I also recommend searching for people who will join your court that have combat traits such as flanker, direct leader, and unyeilding, as well as siege leader. Good commanders with combat traits can also help you win when outnumbered. Also make sure that you have the best councillors that you can have and make powerfully vassals advisors if they have garbage traits or just excommunicate them and imprison them if your orthadox/have a vassalied pope or just murder them.
