The straight point of relief rule is in line with the basket, not the line of the direction it went OB.
@ugiisback3 жыл бұрын
This so much
@kyleedwards72973 жыл бұрын
Came here to say this. Straight back along the line of play in this case would put you back out of bounds. You do not always have the option to take relief backwards after going OB. Only if you are able to do so along the line of play.
@Falcon8883 жыл бұрын
Right so you only get the one meter. You don’t get to take a straight line as far as you want. By that measure on some holes with OB by the green you could take a straight line from OB right to a tap in by the basket.

The video was comedy gold. First you get a detailed description of the planned throw eg. "Gonna hit the right gap on a slight anni, let it fade and try and skip it..." And then the disk get thrown into the first tree (or stump)... basket after basket. Brutal. Well done guys. Looked painful.

@7:15 Judging from the direction you threw, I think you misunderstand the optional relief? 803.02D means after you take your 2m, you only get relief going opposite the direction to the basket, not further on the perpendicular line from the OB. Hard to tell from the video if that's what you were doing...

But I can only barely break 300' on my best shots. I only wish I could hear the wind come off my discs like the pros.

Don't just imagine it, do it! All you need is a backyard, a disc, and a basket-related catcher. I started mine with a big plastic planter at one end and a utility pole at the other, in a utility easement corridor. I scoured Craigslist and eventually found two baskets for about $125 each. You can do it! "If you build it, they will come."
