I very much enjoyed your video. Having MS I will never make those climbs but I am thrilled to watch you and your partner do it. Y'all don't come across as pretentious or like you are doing a big ad for some sporting company. Very easy to watch. Please continue to be safe and mostly have fun out there. New subscriber and a 65 year old fan.

Nah.... Hunting Ravine. I've done both and no way is this harder. I do love it though and certainly has a few technical areas.

Looks like a brutal up hill haha! I’m getting amped up to try that one now!

I know it's really hard to capture the steepness on video, but you can tell it's fairly vertical in areas.

I descended that trail years ago. I was hanging on to every little branch I could find. Very treacherous and not worth the effort bc there is nothing to see at the summit.

When I did the Tripyramids, I skipped the north slide but hit the south. I am glad that I skipped the north slide.

Haven't done the slides yet for the Tripyramids. Looks sporty! But you were rewarded with spectacular fall conditions!

Would recommend doing it at least once - was definitely a memorable experience! Choose a dry summer day though. The morning Fall mist made it super slick for us!

@@hikinghinkle758 I have nine more trips up the Tri’s so I’m sure I’ll give it a shot at some point. 🤣

For viewers new to climbing summits use a watch or GPS device that registers altitude. That should give you a very close idea of summit . For those who don't hike much many trail peaks are marked by Forest Service or local trail clubs. From a safety standpoint I'm glad you are hiking as buddies.

I can sympathize as when I did this years ago I basically said TFWT in the slabs and went to the right side and used trees and roots and anything else I could grab ahold of to haul my ass up. As far as classification, I rate a good portion of it a solid 3. There’s not enough exposure for a 4 rating. This is a trail that every serious White Mountain hiker should bag. Nice vid BTW!

It was some of the most intense hiking I've done thus far! Not sure if North Tripyramid is on the terrifying 25 but it definitely should be!

Would hunnington ravine not be considered more difficult than this one?
@scott7521Ай бұрын
Yes. I've done both and it's more difficult and if you don't like heights its probably not recommended.

Hey, enjoyable video and I just subscribed. My plan is probably to backpack up to the Kate Sleeper Trail, tent there and go to South, Middle and North Tripyramid and reverse, avoiding the North Tripyramid slide all together. My question is, how was the slide on South Tripyramid? It looked like your buddy was choosing how to go down from South Triyramid. Was it difficult? Thanks!
@harperniven Жыл бұрын
When I hiked down the South Tripyramid this past June, it was slow going, but certainly doable. It should be noted that this was on a beautiful and dry summer day. Hope this helps.

@@hikinghinkle758 I’ve only done it that one time. I plan on doing it this summer, so I will tell you if it’s harder in snow or no snow.

That’s laughable to say this is a technical rock climb. It’s 4th class at most.
@matthewgodwin4626 Жыл бұрын
There are parts of it that could be considered 3. None that are 4. Mostly all 2. He’s also saying a 35° grade is 60° so…
