As a property owner and event organizer (1 of 6) I am glad you bested your all time high in laps (13 on this course, ya earned it)...we will be making a slight tweak to the course for next year that should help with the belt wear and tear (#1 complaint I heard after the race). The whole team did great and you and your team did a great job with the video and drone footage! Good Luck next year!

That was epic. Love the Coleman minibikes. I put the Predator 212 and cheap Amazon 30 series converter immediately. Been running hundreds of miles since. Even brought it to a Gambler event with Gibby and and Tom rode it 70 miles solo. Tom submerged it in a water crossing and after a few pulls of solid water it fired up. Still runs great too! Great Video guys. I'm in Texas now but if could ever fill a spot on the team let me know.

Nice job guys! Great video, fun to watch. Question for you: do you think having a jackshaft set-up with a high quality clutch like a Max Torque would have held up better overall than all the belts you fried with the torque converter?
@JasonExplainsThings Жыл бұрын
Yeah I'm not sure... I'll definitely research this. Up to this rate I've been very happy with the torque converter.

@@drewnewcomb2909he fried belts because his rear gearing is probably too high or his cvt isn't adjusted properly. My bike was up and down that hill all day and didn't have a single belt issue.

We had about 7.5 hours on the track, which means you'd have to average 22.5 minutes a lap, including pit stops, to finish all 20 laps. My best lap was about 23 minutes, so I was never going to make it. 1:54 says a lot about the culture surrounding these events. I think I'll refrain from attending any more.

I'm thankful how they responded directly to my issues with the event in 2022 (we didn't even race... just left). So I think they're on the right track.

@@JasonExplainsThings The Ironman winner (Josiah Idaho, I think) would be creeping up on me during the tight trails, even when I felt like I was pushing it, and then when I let him by, he'd just creep away. It was like he was running 15% faster than me, no matter what I was doing.

I put springer seats on my Coleman BT200X's. Makes a big difference on those bumps. Super worth it for about 20 bucks a bike. Mine are done somewhat similar to the How to Lou channel.

I would like to see how much it cost to do this bike, gas, belts and brews. Awesome job looks like so much fun!
@JasonExplainsThings Жыл бұрын
For the race itself? Probably 5 belts ($35), 4 gallons of gas ($18), 10 beers... for the night before ($20), and for the bike I have no idea how much money we put into it. Got it for $350 in 2018... probably another $1000 in parts over the past 5 years. Mini bike racing isn't likely a smart financial decision. 🤣

You have 8hrs to run the race. Granted the track was somewhat new this year and the trail will wear in but it was finished by multiple people so maybe you need to do making excuses and suck less. I'll almost guarantee i know why you were cooking belts and it isn't the tracks fault.

Hey Badger, love your mini trucks BTW. Yeah I don't fault the organizers for not finishing the race. I do only a couple of these races a year. I have a crappy back. I was very happy with the result and I want to keep pushing to eventually finish all 100 miles.
