Would be interesting to know the energy generated by the solar compared to your legs. Do you have torque sensors on your pedals ?

Good Luck to you both ... Oscar Wilde once quoted, “A dreamer is one who can only find his way by moonlight, and his punishment is that he sees the dawn before the rest of the world.”

Amazing video guys, you could submit it to ARTE :) What was the reason behind the lack of hubmotor / regen option? For such a heavy bike, wouldn't it make sense?
@kilianweigand5 ай бұрын
thank you! We really appreciate the positiv feedback! We used a rear wheel hub motor with the option of regen. It was direct drive BUT with already that much weight on the rear wheel we didn`t wanted to push it even more. We had a lot of broken spokes and also a broken rim because the bike with us two riders is around 240kg and we obviously were pushing it quite hard. For the next Solarbikebuild we will try to make regen possible. It`s just so good for long up and down riding

IS THAT JOJO REFERENCE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@dailyrider29753 ай бұрын
Amazing race. But once again, I think spokes are stupid. I've switched my E-bike to solid spoke wheels and after thousands of mile, zero issues. Every couple hundred miles a spoke would break with old wheels. Because spoked tires for bicycles are designed for light weight. You could have stronger spoke tires, but they would basically be motorcycle spoke wheels. With heavy EV bikes, EV CARGO bikes or tandem bikes like in this video, regular bike spokes are not good enough.

Leaving European paradise😂 what a joke…other place is hell..??
@kilianweigand5 ай бұрын
That wasn‘t the meaning… it was about the comfort and easyness of riding through Europe by bike and that things are more difficult outside of europe
