It was 1995 and got a DJ tryout spot in a "rock" bar, owners told me "and we play no techno in here", to which I replied I'd play only what I wanted to and that there was "techno" and techno. First night, after I got the people very warm, I started with Josh Wink - Higher State Of Consciousness (the good version), Daft Punk - Rollin' and Scratchin' and this one. From Josh Wink's on the owners were jumping a meter high behind the bar, most positively freakin' out on the music and offered me to get hired fulltime with open bar hahaha !

Lovely story. I was fortunate to watch Hardfloor live in Trondheim between 1997-1998 iirc. What I do remember was being at the greatest musical experience of my life. Not gotten that feeling since. They was one up on that small stage, keyknobbing their way through known and unknown tracks. Fantastic.

@@jmp01a24 I have never seen HardFloor live but peaked to their tracks so many times. I'd have Highly recommended another band but they are split up now. Eat Static were the best live dance band I ever saw for ten years but they have split. Now they are one guy but he might still be excellent. They were phenomenal at their peak. Lost vagueness Glasto 2003 was ridiculous. Amazing night. Also Glasto 95 Just after Carl Cox. Sublime. Best Live experience ever. Luv and Peace.

@@ianedmonds9191 I wish I would been able to be there with you. A lot of familiar names you mention there. It was the glory days of electronic music, we just didn't know it fully back then. But we that loved the music and vibes kept the memories alive and planted seeds. I still enjoy the music today, but also a lot of the new artists that have emerged the last 10 years. So much talent around. And you don't need a record deal to make it... Just talent, a room with a computer & internet is all you need now. The selection of virtual instruments have become so good its hard to hear the difference between computer software or if it's played on special hardware, like the legendary analog synths and boxes (101, 303, 808, etc.).

+HRDFLR I was sitting watching it with my wife and she said "I recognise that music in the background. What is it?". I hadn't noticed because I was too busy listening to the dialogue but as soon as she pointed it out it was obviously Lost In The Silver Box. You're right that it's quite hard to make out. If you listen to it with headphones it's a lot clearer. So how did this come about? Did they approach you and ask for the rights to include it? And do I win a prize for spotting it? Or more to the point does my wife? She's erm a big Hardfloor fan and tells me she'd love loads of free vinyl. :-) Not this album though. I, erm I mean she bought it back in '93.
