Just to let anyone who happens to come by this video know (I'd make it as a Community post, but apparently you need 1,000 subscribers for that): I've decided to make another Game of Thrones related video! This has given my channel a huge burst and I've decided to start uploading a few different kinds of videos, but I'd love to still do these types of edits. I won't give any hints, but I'm actually really excited while I'm working on it. I'm hoping to have it up by the end of next week :) But I'm actually moving this weekend, so I haven't been able to devote as much time as I'd like to it. I'll get it done as soon as I can though!

To me, the best ending would have been the NK and his WW horde literally sweeping all of Westeros. No House, no alliance, no one able to stop him. A near total annihilation of all living men until the last stand for humanity at King's Landing, forcing bitter enemies to fight alongside each other in one desperate, last ditch effort for survival... make it feel truly hopeless and depressing until the very last 2 episodes.

I was thinking the same things back then. It would've showed the audience that all of the bickering about the iron throne shouldn't have been the main focus for the people of Westeros, and what happens when you ignore the existential threat, and concentrate on petty little things.

YES!!!! and for a bittersweet ending it would have been nice that Jon Snow would have to kill Daenerys in order for "Lightbringer" to come to life and fullfill the prophecy of azor ahai, and with that have a final all out battle with heavy casualties, and Jon finally killing the night king and becoming the king, where he needs to rebuild westeros after that fight.

Even before the final season started I had this in mind and was wondering if the writers would make the Night King sit on the iron throne and show the viewers that no one is actually left alive to fight for it(all men are dead), bringing a contrast and unexpected nature of how the series was built on in the previous seasons. This would somehow make the fans understand that happy ending was never an option in the first place. They could have showcased the whole of westeros turning into a white snow desert with a dead silence of the army of the dead.

It would still feel rushed as hell.... The ending was honestly fine.. But GOT should of been a 10 season show at least!! Season 8 should of been an entire season of the Night Kings army just ravaging down Westeros to Kings Landing & bring Winter with them & it should of kicked on from there us seeing more of Brans Flashbacks/Flash wards that would of made him being king make sense & obviously a lot more of Dany slowy turning mad. It should of had 2 more seasons being fleshed out & it would of been fine, D&D ruined it by telling HBO they could do it in 8 seasons instead of 10 (which is what HBO wanted them to do)

Jon who was made Targaryen just to add a reason for Daenerys madness. Death of Night King is stupidest thing in Show. And Bran who sayed that he isn't a lord anymore, and then just become a king. And thoose are just the biggest problems of S7&8

Jon's fight with the White Walker and the WW's face when Jon's sword didn't shatter, it was setting up for such an epic and masterpiece of a final battle between Jon and the Night King...and then the writers decided to subvert our expectations with Season 8.

This episode was not the best of the show. It doesn't even come close. The whole fight scene looked very rough. You couldn't see what was going on half the time due to shaky cam. Also all of the scenes before this 'battle' were mediocre at best. The King's Landing attack episode was the best, together with the episode where Ned dies.

Even the best episodes past season 5 don't come close to the best episodes from earlier seasons. The whole atmosphere is wrong. The mystery doesn't feel right. Characters are aren't acting like themselves and the writing was dumbed down. The show peaked at Blackwater. Season 3 was also good, but I think Blackwater was the highlight of the show.

I like the detail at 5:24 that Tormund is crying. He just watched thousands of his people, no doubt including friends wiped out. He went north to attempt a rescue mission and had to row away and leave all those people behind, knowing they'd be turned. This must have been horrifying for one of the last true leaders among the Free Folk.

The potential this show had to end, because of this episode. Man, it gave me nightmares before the final season came out. I was anxious with anticipation of how it would brutally end. The mist rolls in, the dead come and they do not stop.

Hardhome was peak Game of thrones. You finally see what the whitewalkers are really capable of. You finally see the scale of the problem, you see why the wildlings are uniting and trying not to fight - to flee south as fast as they can. The 10 last minutes of this episode were more akin to a horror movie than anything else. Nothing could be done but flee. The whitewalkers were shown as unbeatable, smart, patient, powerful. Then you see the night king respawn everyone that just died fighting them. They are not just smart, patient and powerful. Nothing but dragons can kill such an army, everything else is pointless. If only the show could have made an entire last season of everyone in westeros uniting to fight them, and still loosing over and over again. Until some hard won victory. The whitewalkers deserved a better ending than this.

yes,yes,yes! That would have been a much better twist than that stupid arya mary sue plotarmor scene. A better twist would be if the night king went to kings landing and adding to his army, while the main army attacked winterfell. That would be a very good twist. Another twist should have been that the night king being immune to dragonglass/valyrian steel, since it would fix many plotholes and make much more sense plotwise. Lightbringer would be the only weapon to defeat night king.

If you look closely, when Jon killed that WW, the NK moved his head a bit. That was the moment that NK realized that this man is serious. But, moving on the end of the scene, he showed Jon his true powers and what he can do, without saying anything, just moving his hands. Jon then realized that his enemy cannot be defeated, unless they found what can truly kill them.

One of the most horrifying and bad ass scenes in a fantasy show I ever seen. The army of the dead which surges like an unstoppable human tide, which massacres absolutely everything, the White Walkers who are almost impossible to kill even for the most formidable warriors, and finally, the Night King and his power of necromancy which announces an army ever greater in the future and a number of soldiers dying in vain to try to stop them... I got chills watching this again just like it was the first time I saw them.

That look on Jon's face when the dead rose up to add to the Night King's numbers was the look of a very shook man. And nobody came blame him for it either. That episode cemented the war between the living and the dead as a numbers game for the ages. If you draw breath, you were automatically drafted to "Team Life". All that beef in the past gets thrown str8 out the window. That's how I was viewing it.

Battle of the Bastards was terrible. The tactics in that battle were beyond stupid. Did you know the showrunners messed up filming that battle so much, that they didn't film the climax of it? The battle was supposed to be 30% longer, but they didn't have time to film the end of the battle (with the Umbers betraying Ramsay in the middle of the battle) because the showrunners wanted to film every individual shot of the battle in chronological order, for some dumb reason lol.

Well the white walkers and the NK deserve some love after all they've tried and still failed. But even though you did a good job on this I don't think Hardhome works with the Night Kings theme song. For me the suspenseful sounds they used for the series were just... perfect. Also I think the sad and depressing NK song fits perfectly for the battle of winterfell but just after all we've seen before. So I think that one fits perfectly for episode 3 of season 8 as well. Interesting idea though. Do you know that "Not today" piece with the choir in it? I've done a short video version (didn't upload it though) of that moment when the NK walks towards Bran using that music and it's so damn epic and dark. But still ... I prefer the original versions. ^^

my whole teenage went thinking that in the end daenerys would become queen of the seven kingdoms and when got to know about jhon snow that he is rightful heir of the throne i thought he will be the king consort and this legendry series would end like a epic. i grew up thinking this. and yeah it still hurts. this series deserved a better end or no end at all.
