Nice to see the green dragon pub again. We as bikers in the 80’s used to camp outback near the fall and we had great times, and a bit wild. I took my wife, then girlfriend, there but never made it as we got stuck in the river at Hawes in a bloody car lol. Yes it was flooded and no I didn’t see the sign ! Thanks for sharing great stuff. 🍺 to Bri.

A beautiful location Sue (and Claire). I was watching you drive down through to the field thinking “how would our Motorhome fit down there?!” Particularly with the low hanging trees. Hiya, unfortunately the site we stayed at lists on its website that it isn't suitable for caravans or motorhomes, just campervans and tents. I will add that into the video description. The hamlet is only a mile and a half from Hawes C&MH Club site though (lovely site), or 1.2 miles from Shaw Ghyll Caravan & Camping Site (never stayed here), so plenty more options. Have a great weekend 😀

We love Hawes! We were there in April. You had considerably warmer weather than us 🤣 The campsite was so pretty, but I felt your frustration with the watered down soap. It’s a big no-no for Mrs Slaw. The same as the chippy that waters down the vinegar 😡

It’s such a beautiful town isn’t it. Hardraw is also worth visiting and walking around including the waterfall. The Green Dragon pub is lovely for food and drink too. The campsite was perfectly located but the lack of proper door locks and the handwash being as thin as water was disappointing. I emailed thanking them a lovely stay and politely feeding back the problems we noted. Not had a reply 😆

I'm reminded of visiting a Fish & Chip Cafe in Whitby, the Ketchup that was served with our meals was appallingly watery and we were charged 10p a sachet for the better quality stuff! Possibly the only example I've ever come across of northern folk being tight. IMHO the best chippy in the country is up that way, in Angel Lane, Penrith

Hi Des, it was a lovely campsite in its riverside location. Actually one toilet door you could reach with your foot to hold the door shut! It’s only about a mile and a half from Hawes.
