This man, Fayose, is exhibiting a lack of sincerity and trying to save face. I used to think he is a bold individual who candidly say things the way they are. But, now I see he panders to tribal sentiments. He is not even sounding pacifist or optimistic. Those that were citing Tinubu's excellent governorship record in Lagos state as a reason why he must be elected as president are now recanting on that claim and saying he is not a miracle worker. Absolute bonkers.

If because we air our view he cannot do the job, he should just resign. Nigeria is long overdue to be a working country because we have all it takes. Our problem is WEAK POLITICIANS who cannot put up a fight against the West for the sake of our own people, so they'd rather loot the country, and that's why we never wanted Tinubu to go to aso rock cos we knew he could do nothing. We didn't know it could get this worse and pathetic. I don't care about who is in Aso rock, all I care about is someone who really want to be the Godfather of Nigeria by setting Nigeria up to work. My advice to the president would be to cut down the cost of governance. I wouldn't pretend and say it's something that can be done with a snap of the finger, but he has the reputation of doing the impossible. I believe in your capacity to salvage the nation. I see you making pragmatic and decisive choices that if consolidated on Nigeria would be better off for it, but you would have to win the Nigerian people over as that in itself is a valuable asset you need if you must deliver on your renewed hope agenda promises. Simply put, as a sign of good faith, cut down the cost of governance. You might be surprise that that's all the common man needs for him to partner with your government.

@Nate_Arin....Sir, in as much your submission is understandable but it is absolutely insignificant to the problems Nigeria is facing now. The government does not have parameters to work on like many other past governments. That's is why Nigeria can never get out of this situation like every other African states. The western hemisphere secret is having strong institution that addresses problem's systematically without fear or favour. Without having basic functional institution, you can never adjust or redirect the fortune of the economy. That is the reason this government are suggesting paying #8,000 naira to 12million Nigerians as palative to the current situation out of over 200milliins Nigerians. By the way, how do you reach 12 million Nigeria by way? What measure would you use to determine who gets what. Let's ask this questions, 1.where is the subsidy money that was removed. 2.What are the plans intended to sustain the removal of the subsidy. 3. Where is the money recovered by Efcc from past looters. Furthermore, dollar would go futher up because absolutely do not produce anything that could attracts dollar to run the economy. We largely rely on crude oil and foreign remittance from this that leave in diaspora. Is this a risk. I would submit by saying, the combination of the 3 major candidates that contested the last Presidential election can never achieve noting. Until there is a Nationationalist that come and work for the good of the people and having in mind for history to judge him because the coast is tuff.

The last time I checked, even Tinubu was so pleased with his effort that he promised to continue from where he stopped. My happiness is that everybody goes to the same market. We will all eat this breakfast for 8yrs. No protest.

And the economy would be fixed in just 8 months? Do you really understand what an economy is? It's not a family affairs or something you turn around without just mere words but reforms and policies which would take time. How long did it take the world, the USA to get out of recession? The USA took the world to recession when bush went to war with Saddam and the world at large suffered it and it took years for the global economy to get out of the recession, that should tell you it's not a day job to fix a dead economy. None, neither Atiku, Obi would have done any better except they'd lie to anyone to keep doing patch patch just like the Buhari government did that got us in a deeper mess.

@AnitaAnita-dc2ey You that pretends to understand how economies work, how did the second US-Irak war lead the world into recession? If by "recession" you are referencing the 2007/2008 global financial crises, the US-Irak war didn't cause that crisis. Nobody is expecting tinubu the dunce to perform economic magic overnight, but at least his administration's policies should be seen to make economic sense. This has not been the case thus far. All we have seen from tinubu is cluelessness galore.

@@kene6753 I am sure you are old enough to be around when the world started and ended to know the ripple effect it had on global economy. I also want to assume that you can tell when the world was in a recession and the time it started and when it all ended when global economy eventually got out of the recession whereas some countries are still suffering the effect till date cos they're not completely out due to the recession effect. I'll leave it here for now, thanks.

@@AnitaAnita-dc2ey Oga what are you saying? A tenure is 4 years. A tenure is a duration of office and going for second tenure is not mandatory. The required years to stay in office is 4 years a tenure. What fraction is 8 months in 4 years and you're saying 8 months is too small to get your government working. We're not saying working perfectly well but the grounds should be set. Let's say the truth. We are adults

@AnitaAnita-dc2ey Please stop writing about topics that you have limited knowledge of. Yes, the global financial crises of 2007 did have severe adverse effects on the global economy, but the financial crisis had absolutely nothing to do with the second US versus the Irak war. I also believe that you're mixing "recession" with the global financial crises that hit towards the tail-end of 2007. Those were two separate events, one led to the other. The global financial crises led to the recession that you keep mentioning. The main cause of the global financial crisis of 2007 was the widespread issuance and trade of Sub-prime Mortgage financial instruments (Derivatives) by US financial institutions. Other global financial institutions blindly bought and traded billions of these worthless US Sub-prime Mortgage financial instruments (Derivatives) not knowing that they all practically became worthless over time. As a result, financial institutions all over the world (the US especially) started massively defaulting on their settlement obligations when the derivatives in question became due. Please check why these bank-issued Mortgages were termed "sub-prime" and why they eventually became worthless, and you'll understand why the 2007 global financial crises happened. The second US vs Iraki war had nothing to do with the global economic downturn that you keep referencing.

Honestly I don’t even think it’s about Tinubu or no Tinubu. It’s about APC. APC handed over a dead economy to APC. As long as it is either APC or PDP in governance our situation is unlikely to end. The criminals in those parties are still there waiting for their turn to loot. We need a total breakaway from those two parties. They both killed our economy in 24 years. Shame. Tinubu has worsened matters with his policies which have backfired so far.

In 2012, an official task force ranked Nigeria’s refineries “bottom of the ladder” in Africa, saying that from 2006 to 2009 they had operated at an average capacity of 18%. During the early 1990s, the team noted, the country produced enough petroleum products to meet national demand and exported what was left over. From 2009 to 2012 their capacity rarely exceeded 28%, according to the Nigeria Natural Resource Charter, which implements the natural resource charter in Nigeria. The charter is a global initiative that aims to help countries benefit from their natural resources. Recent capacity has also fluctuated. In January 2017 it was at 36.7%, before falling to a low of 5.8% later in the year. In April 2019 it fell to zero, where it has stayed since July of the same year

We wrote APC manifesto at Pat Utomi’s house Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says some parts of the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress (APC) was drafted at the residence of Pat Utomi, a professor, in 2014. According to Laolu Akande, senior special assistant to the vice-president on media and publicity, Osinbajo said this at the 5th edition of the Airtel Touching Lives in Lagos. The vice-president said the APC included a social safety initiative to specifically address poverty, among other things in its manifesto. "Listening to each story of a life touched this evening must remind us of the many others who need our help, our comfort and our kindness. The poor and vulnerable always need a voice,” Osinbajo was quoted to have said. "In 2014, Mr Wale Edun, Prof. Pat Utomi and I met at Pat’s home to write portions of the manifesto of the APC. “We all agreed that a fundamental pillar of our party’s plans must be to create a social safety net for the people. We were convinced that government owed a duty to the poor, the weak, the vulnerable and those who cannot work. “Social safety nets are not merely acts of sovereign kindness; they are a sovereign obligation - a responsibility.
