This is what church leadership is all about - doing all things (including sharing about your life - with wisdom) to the end that the Church be edified. Glory to God for this kind of ministers. O that we may all follow such great examples.

I respect Pastor Piper for being so honest in this talk. His story defeats the false belief of many young people that there will be only sunny days during their marriage. Pastor Piper's advice and personal experiences gained from 'not so sunny days' in his own marriage teach me and my husband that we have to kneel even when the times are not good

There's a raw honesty in this that in itself is very powerful.

Praise God for the Joining of a man and a woman thus becoming one flesh...Lot's of young couples today believe that if the marriage is stressful or hard, that it's not "right or good"...God never intended for marriage to be easy but he did intend for it to be sweet and good, through much tribulation..this is the *LOT* of the Christian, we are not called to an easy life but rather a life fought in Christ that we may run the good race to Glory. Like brother Piper said in the video, "I knelt first, then she knelt, my job as the husband is to kneel *FIRST*"...For a man to be the head of a marriage, to put all pride aside, repent (to *God* first)and work to fix issues (even those she has caused) is impossible lest a man be in Christ and a new creation...My knees have scars and every man of God that is a husband knows what I'm talking about.

Marriages until death do you part. If you get remarried after your divorced you were committing adultery there is no question about that based on the teachings of the Bible in our Lord Jesus

I did not come to this knowledge through the scriptures or through people, I recieved a revelation of Jesus Christ, I am accountable to no one accept the Spirit of God, and seek counseling, wisdom, guidance, comfort and truth From Christ who lives within me

He's only speaking of a marriage with 2 Christians who are actively following Christ, not an abusive marriage. The big D = deliverance for the righteous and destruction for the rebellious. Pastors love to pretend there are no abusers in their church. It's 1 in 4 people living in demonic torment and it's not addressed or exposed. Counseling doesn't work for abuse. It actually further tortures the abused. If you are being abused, you can separate.

Your only hope is to pray? Why not have an intimate relationship with the Father and the Son through the Spirit instead? Why not ask and recieve anything and everything you desire and partner with the spirit to preform signs and wonders, heal your trauma and recieve and new mind, have Jesus Christ living within you and through you at all times. On earth as it is... ?

I think that when a man leaves a woman emotionally it's the same as physically leaving but why God ? Why isn't that in the Bible ? Since there is no definite answer I'n the Bible ... I will suffer for the rest of my life. To be truthful I deserve it ... But dangit so far from the Disney movies .... Maybe I'm in a failed marriage to draw me closer to God...I'm not the only lady out there in this predicament .... Trust me 90 percent of the woman that are real with me tell me the same thing... How awful.... Maybe ladies don't marry unequally yoked even before u are saved... Your storing up nothing but problems
@brittanykimbrough74184 жыл бұрын
But are you praying and trusting God without doubt regardless how it feels? I was dealing with the same thing and felt hopeless. But if I felt hopeless that means God-less because God is hope. You have to pray daily. And expect God to grant that prayer and if not give glory anyways and ask how the situation can be used to glorify Him. God is faithful please try reevaluating your thoughts. Phil 4:8 I love you sister and I pray you would be granted a blessed and joyful marriage in the future.

This video is not about abusive marriage, but the Bible speaks on it. Forsaking breaks the vows. Abuse breaks the vows. God is a God of justice who Himself divorces the ones who continue in unrepentant rebellion. If someone claims to be a believer but is not acting like it in behavior and living in sin, God tells us we are called to peace and to not even eat with such a one. Separating is God's love for an abuser as the final resort as it may lead them to repentance.

@brittanykimbrough7418 As to the other comment, you have no idea what you are talking about. We cannot change people. Only God knows who will be saved. It is not the wife's fault when an abuser doesn't change. That is so dangerous to make assumptions like that. God delivers His saints from the hand of the wicked.
