1. I remember seeing a preview of this game on The Mighty Jingles' channel! 2. TIL that w4sted has great taste in music. 3. Awesome that this officially launched. can't wait to try it out.

You may have noticed this already, but you can (or at least used to be able to) reel directly in at a target then grab to kill all your momentum without taking damage, although you have to time it right; it's definitely useful for getting around quick, for example if you have to get back to the kiosk ASAP, and it's also useful for times like at 4:34:20 when you reel in too fast and don't want to smash your helmet open (on a similar note, tethers are notably stronger than your grapple as far as I can tell, so if you've tethered something you'll have to cancel tethers if you want to stop it... or I suppose use even more tethers in the opposite direction). Also, you should probably be a bit more careful about using your cutter near flammable objects (mainly those pillow things on the walls). For that matter, you should make sure you've used all the necessary systems (depressurized all the compartments, unlatched the thrusters, etc) before starting to actually dismantle it, since you seem to go for control panels pretty early on (although you do seem to be doing decently with this by the end of the stream, I think that going through the ship and opening all the compartments to equalize the atmosphere in the whole ship before venting plus making sure fuel lines are cut off/thrusters are detatched/etc before doing any cutting is probably a good idea). Above all else, remember that slow is smooth, and smooth is fast -- take your time and don't rush, and you'll end up doing a better job overall. Obviously, this is just my thoughts on the matter, and you're free to use or disregard my suggestions as you like. Either way, this was really fun, and I'd love to see more!

I have a similar tactic, except instead of grabbing, I use F to do the force push. It's not as effective-- in that you don't come to a full stop on any object-- but it's a lot easier to pull off since you don't have to be close enough to the object to grab it in order to push it-- and if it's immovable, then the push against you will slow you down to a safe speed.

That second ship you were struggling to try and get inside the opposite side Hull. After one outer hull side is removed you can squeeze between the Inner cockpit and the outer hull section which will lead into the side sections

Around 3:08:00 W4sted talks about getting firefly vibes from the music, now maybe Its just wishful thinking but I'm getting more of a mass effect vibe from those background synth effects.

hmm, station hopper? wtvr, looks like these are all 1 or 2 person ships for long term travel.... multiplayer could good for proper multi-crew ships. stuff ten times the size maybe, with crew quarters and life support and all that stuff. that could be quite interesting even without any new play mechanics, maybe the multi-crew ship break yard would be a separate station that you get to hop over too for the job, each job being like company team building exorcises and such. They could just add another station computer or module for the in game thing for each player. shared wealth generation and knowledge training. maybe someone is skilled with the buzz saw, while another is skilled with the tethers, and so on. maybe add a simple tool sharing mechanic to the mix, and it would already be great fun.

Yeah I could definitely see ways where they could add MP into a future game, but I think this one is a little too small and limited scope wise to really work with more people, there's just not quite enough to do as it stands. Love the idea of proper massive ships with whole layouts to understand and dismantle in multiplayer though, could defo seem myself playing the hell out of that!

Later game there are larger ships, but I don't think there are any too big to fit in the salvage area.

Not to far into the video this game looks great the whole culture around ship breakers is just wow. things are so bad that children possibly have a prayer not just for their family but for the next knowing from such a young age that your father could be gone in a second whew.

Welcome to the early 20th Century. You could also include Mining, Military and more in the modern era tbh. You could look at the 19th but you'd have to add the kids were working too.

I mean, the fees do seem excessive, but at the rate he's going he'll pay his debt off rather quickly. If each 15 min shift is one day, then it looks like shipbreakers can pay off their debt within a few months, especially as upgrades make the process quicker and more profitable. Lynx just gives you the whole ship, you make quite good money at the job once you're out of debt. The "life insurance" policy also makes the hazards of the job a lot less horrifying. Honestly, this seems like a better deal than most student loans do today.

@williamturner7131
@williamturner7131 2 жыл бұрын
@@dennislindemann9057 Its not about collisions and shit It's about storytelling Through this cinematic, it's immediately apparent that something as small as modern day planes can travel into space, and not only that, but there's so much debris in orbit that even commercial flights or shuttles have to deal with it. Suspension of disbelief, plus show don't tell. Creative liberties taken to apply a more enjoyable, cinematic experience that tells a story without literally telling it to you. If everything were as grounded in real science and scenario as possible, then entertainment would be significantly more boring.

This looks only mildly interesting, I could see it being infinitely more interesting if the core idea was you broke down ships to afford to build your own, requiring more salvaging in order to maintain and upgrade your own with the option to strike out on your own and bring down space pirates and then make a profit from salvaging their ships.
