i gotta say that this tutorial is absolutely amazing - and not only for those interested in producing hardstyle. this guide can be used by almost any harder EDM genre. I've been really lacking motivation when it comes to producing music eventhough i used to do nothing else between 2019 and 2021. I always felt like i keep falling behind new trends, techniques and plugins. One day i just completely lost all will to make music. But this video, dare i say, has kind of reignited the spark for my motivation again. The way you show and explain all the modern ways to layer leads, refine kicks and things i've always wondered how to do is super helpful - and all that without any annoying pauses or stuttering - just straight to the point. I can't believe i've just watched this for free. It feels like i pirated this video. Thank you!

So, I've been using OPS for a couple on the side Hardstyle tracks. I absolutely love the kick packs, my question is: could you do a video showing how to use the samples to the fullest potential. I've noticed some of the samples in the pack don't ALL have a full Key scale spectrum so I would love to know hat the best way is to play around with the pitch or notes with the kicks to make sure they are all in key with my bassline.

allot of time went into this video, allot of people will argue about historic accuracy and the details, but that means you did your job, i am not a fan of this latest kick style everyone is using, but i dont think it will be around for more then a year in its current state, its a wet fart kick IMO, solid vid, nice to go down memory lane and how far we come as far as making kicks go

Hey I'm very new to FL Studio so sorry if I don't explain it correctly, but why do you have to render out the the pitched kicks with edison to then create kickrolls by splicing the kicks? Can't you create a channel with Nimble kick and then use the piano roll to do the pitched kicks and kickrolls together?
@apersonontheinternet2224 ай бұрын
Good tutorial but my only major feedback is to get rid of Kickstart for sidechain. Problem with Kickstart is that any time you have a kickroll or kick not on the 1/4 it's not going to trigger. This essentially means during your kickrolls you'll get clipping issues, so no side chain on a bunch of the punches. Personally I've found an interesting lazy way to do sidechaining to my punches. I've found a side chaining plugin called "Duck" that lets me trigger the sidechaining to a midi input. So I'll draw my kick into the piano roll for Nimble Kick, create a midi out layer and copy the kick notes including the kick rolls. I'll route that to midi port 1 then on "Duck" set the midi input port to port 1. This means anytime there is a kick there will be a sidechain. I could probably make a tutorial for this to explain it better.
@OnPointSamples4 ай бұрын
Kickstart 2 has MIDI trigger

@@OnPointSamples Useful to know, although Duck has much better customization for the sidechain waveform so I find it better overall :)

Can this mastering method also work for like uptempo tracks or does that need other plug-ins?
@LazyboyLP4 ай бұрын
Now, i might just be dumb, but i have a question. So the melody that you used in the beginning, was that just to get your Layers right? Because now i have a pattern with a completely different melody, but mostly in the same key and i have no idea what to do with it. because i did do a custom melody like you did in the first minutes of the last part. Dont get me wrong this tutorial is absolutely amazing. But i sometimes feel a bit confused, especially when it comes to doing stuff in the mixer.

Hey, when I use OTT on my leads, it gets a clicky noise every time a new note starts playing. Even when I have attack on lowest it gives a very short click sound. Any idea what to do about that?
@AKOUNT1825 ай бұрын
That’s the nature of extreme compression such as OTT, you may be able to get rid of the click by automating the dry\wet of the compressor, so basically cutting off that click, or use a de-click plugin

Hey! I'm about to start making some hardstyle/hardcore music and I have never made music in my life. Is vital good enough to make synth, chords, screeches, and plucks for a first song, or do I most likely need some other plug ins for that? Thank you for this video it is very informative and helpful, plug ins are just a bit intimidating due to the price sometimes.
