Differences between Old School and New School that I noticed watching this. 1. Old school tends to be in a swing time, where as new school does not. 2. Kicks were a bit more bass heavy and less distorted/melodic than new school. 3. (obviously) new school has a much cleaner sound. 4. Old school had reverse bass, where as I don't think any new school artists do reverse bass anymore. 5. New school has much more complex melodies and arpeggios. Other than that, they still seem quite similar to me, and in that respect, they are both still AWESOME!!

Mr Crap Honestly new kicks like Devin Wild, Atmozfears, Keltek are just the best kicks in my opinion just because they aren’t meant to be the hardest yet have a great punch wich some ‘euphoric’ kicks lack a lot. Some Sub Zero Project kicks are good but the rest is just too distorted and heavy that it doesn’t sound that good anymore. Just my opinion but I think it’s that some producers (especially ‘Xtra Raw’ producers) are trying to make their tracks the hardest. But they totally mess up the kicks in their tracks.

I think the new school kicks are often bad because they usually don't fit into the melody(and the melody is boring aswell) and just go for pure power and I mean its decent in an intro but the climax idk. U can find a lot of old school songs that got a balance of both of those things

I don't even think u can compare old school to new school in the first place since the big difference is the % of high quality songs. He will just pick a few out of the hundred newly produced songs compared to oldschool where most tracks sound great and out of the new songs he picked most are technically "old school" since they are old af nowadays.
