Some folks would consider that table extraneous (that means TOTALLY unnecessary!). When you have a good tractor, a big bucket, and up and down, in and out control of the wood rounds, why would you even want a table that's almost impossible to move to the right spot, that's always spilling wood to pick up off the ground from a difficult place, and ya gotta rake half the load out with a pickeroon. Just take it from the bucket, easy, peasy! That's just some folks' opinion, not mine, of course!

The reason why the conveyor belt is running off to one side is because of the frost on drive pulley or shaft. Tighten up on the high side. We are from Michigan. The splitter is an All Wood log splitter made here in Michigan by a veteran!

If something is not working like that 8 way head why not put a 6 way OR throw it on the AXIS which work really well with tough wood? For one to keep doing the same thing and expecting different results, I'll let you finish the sentence.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors11 ай бұрын
It definitely got the job done, just didn’t end up being the best option. We’ll probably run the 12-22 or the 6 way for the next one.

I would have used angle iron ore some calls it L iron on the conveyor belt. Maybe you should have called you channel hard working woman because she is doing most of the work running the wood splitter.

The conveyor will be getting some more work done to it. She is a worker for sure.

Why not just fill the bucket and set it over top of the table? Then you can still grab the pieces out of the bucket, and use a pickaroon and spike the pieces when they are hard to reach (back row and the ends). Thats a sweet bucket for the job though. 2 rows deep, thats a lot of wood
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Жыл бұрын
With the width of the table and bucket together the pickaroon won’t reach that far. I’ve thought about trying to place the bucket to where it would gravity dump onto the table as it emptied but usually end up with a wood avalanche.
@GregTGolden Жыл бұрын
@@hardworkingmanoutdoors Yeah, i could see that. You definitely have a good setup going. But theres some room for improvement getting the bucked rounds on the splitter. Just a pain. Im working on a bucking table with an in feed conveyor to the splitter. So you set the log on the table, buck the rounds, then roll them off the back of the table onto a conveyor...then you can operate the conveyor with a foot pedal to feed into the splitter. I have the bucking table done, but will resume work on the conveyor portion in the spring. Too cold out now for metal fab for my liking.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Жыл бұрын
@@GregTGolden sounds like a nice set up. I’ve thought about an infeed conveyor.

Good evening, I realize that your wife is splitting a very stringy wood species. There is a few times in your video, where the wood came close to hurting her. I am sure that you would not want to see that happen. Or to anyone else, your design has to be made safer. Just a thought, Joe Capo.
@hardworkingmanoutdoors Жыл бұрын
Pieces do fold back sometimes but not really a threat to injury. However I have talked to the owner of All Wood Log Splitters and he is going to try to build a wider wedge that will hold up to this machines power.

word of advice, dont stand in front next to conveyor to film... those wood pieces can fly out at extreme speeds and take your head nearly off.. seen it few time... when she was cutting the knotted pieces u can see the wood riding up... be very careful would hate to see a video of u in hospital or worse.. take care
