Thank you, it was a lot of work but we do what we can to help others and I thought it was neat with all the data that we received. Sometimes it’s hard to get partial opinions on Equipment these days with all the sponsorships, etc. when we work with a company we pride ourselves and being honest and impartial.

Saw your first video a long time ago and just now saw your 2nd video. 6 years ago we bought a Snapper Pro s200xt. 350 trouble free hours now. I'm happy. Fabricated deck, Kawasaki engine, 2-5 gallon tanks, 5400 hydro gear units, etc. Great mower. Not a lot of pub on them. Ferris unit without the suspension system at a lower cost. Great video. Thanks.

A bolt fell off the drive pulley and I had to replace the bolt and pulley last 27:34 summer and had the mechanic put new belts on and that’s the first set of belts I have ever replaced, still had plenty of life left in them. I bought my Bad Boy Maverick HD in May of 2023. 54” deck with the Honda 688cc EFI engine. Added LED lights and mounted on the ROPS bar. Added the orange hardtop sunshade. All said and done $10,000 This has been an exceptional mower. Zero issues. Has the Hydro Gear 3400 transaxles. Love the air ride seat. Cuts very even and a very miser fuel use. I could mow for hours and not get tired. I could sell Bad Boy mowers because I love mine that much. You get what you pay for.

2 months ago, I purchased a Bad Boy Maverick HD. I did my research, and after talking with a couple friends that run commercial grass cutting businesses, it came down to Scag or Bad Boy. As a bonus, the local dealer was running a special, buy the mower, and get a free Bad Boy weedeater and manual mulch flap for the mower. I have about 7.5 hrs on the mower, so far so good. The weedeater is amazing. I own 2 high end Echos, and the Bad Boy is my new favorite.

Use to take 8 man hours to mow our place with a cub cadet zero turn and a gravely tractor. Looked at many brands. At one dealership they were so busy that the mechanic came out to work with us on selecting a mower. I learned more from him than any sales person. They sold Ferris, Scag, Toro and Grasshopper. This was in the fall and I ended up buying their Ferris demo/loaner with less than 100 hours (IS3200). Cut our mowing time down to 3.5 hours ….. so now we mow more areas at 5 hours. Does not beat me up. Used to be I could hardly walk after mowing but with the Ferris I can continue doing other chores. Around 300 hours the left hydro unit leaked oil due to a leaking seal. Covered under warranty. Took two trips to fix due to putting in the wrong seal but corrected. Dealer picked up and delivered mower each time and had a loaner while waiting for the correct seal. Great customer service. I now use them for multiple small engine repair and all my Stihl purchases. Baum Powersports in Chester Ohio. Wonderful dealer!!!

Service like that will not only keep you coming back but draw others in as well through your recommendations. That is the type of dealer we are looking to work with moving forward. I have a 2016 Ferris IS 600 Z, it has a little over 800 hrs on it, it has been a great mower, nothing other than blades and belts has been replaced. It has a 25hp commercial grade Briggs&Stratton engine The hydro drives are Hydrogear 3200, the oil in them are fairly easy to change, they take 2 quarts of 20W50 regular oil.

Ferris 100% satisfaction! ❤️ I've had my Ferris ISX 800 for about a couple weeks and put 10 hours on it. I have a very rough yard with lots of obstacles. It takes about 2.5 hours to cut it all. The suspension makes the job much easier and I feel, after a session, just like I felt when I started it. 👍 Had one issue. One of two air filter cover thumbscrews got lost when it came loose. Dealer gave me a couple FOC. 👍 The suspension is not perfect at speed but it's way way better than a solid system, which I've endured for 6 years here. My only issue, due to me, is that I can easily chew up the grass when maneuvering around trees on soft ground. The Ferris has plenty of traction. Fine when you use a fwd and rev technique. I'm very pleased with the engineering, ease of maintenance, and access on the Ferris, and I'm an engineer! $10k well worth spending. My last mower for sure!

Just completed the 25 hour service. Took 1.5 cartridges of Red N Tacky grease. Messy as you can't see it coming out and you use more than needed. Though it's good to flush the bearings out . Good for long life but horrible to do (13 zerks plus two spindles) and clean up.

I'll second that for Ferris. Have an 8 year old Ferris zero turn with 400 hours, 48" deck, 19HP Kawasaki, Hydro Gear ZT3100. I sometimes pull a 600lb cart with it and yearly I pull a 48" plug aerator with about 150 lbs. on it. It pulls hard... Awesome machine. Aside from regular maintenance (oil, oil filter, fuel filter, air filter, plugs, grease, and one hydro oil and filter change) I've only had one issue that may be my fault. Mowing very close in to bushes a branch unclipped the cover on the Donaldson Air Filter. Air filter element never came out and I mowed for about 10 minutes before I noticed the cover on the ground. It will never happen as I've tied the clips with string so It can't come off. If I ever need to replace it I'm headed straight back to Ferris.

Here is a little mower story for you. I work on small engines out of my garage, and a guy called me one day, said he heard of me through a friend. He said he just bought a $10,000 plus Scag Zero turn, and it stalled in his back yard as he was mowing. It was Saturday and he wanted me to come get it and fix it ,if it was something that wont effect warrantee. We discussed the warantee thing and I told him I cannot work on it while it is under warrantee. But he said come get it. So I loaded my trailer with winch and headed to his house. When I got there ,he told me he was not happy that this mower quit on the 1st or 2nd time he mowed( I cant recall) but the mower was weeks old from purchase. I told him ,,I dont believe I want to work on it,,but lets go take a look at it. Did I mention he was not happy> lol So we walked across the yard and around the corner,,,and his mower was sitting between 2 hedge rows in his yard. And here is how the story ends!! As I got 20 ft from it,,I stopped and said. I know whats wrong with it!!! (I have good vision. ) I heard him say ,,,,What? I walked up to the mower and hid from him what I did,,,but it took 1 second!!!! (I fixed it) Then I said ,go ahead and start it!!! He looked at me like I was crazy ! He cranked the mower and it started!!! He went from being mad ,,,to what kind of witchcraft is going on here!! The engine has a fuel pump pulse line connected to the valve cover,,it came off as he mowed thru the bushes!! I seen the small hose hanging loose as I walked up to the mower. If the line is not attached ,,no fuel!!

I had a several year old Gravely ZT X 42 with Kawasaki and it was really good. I made the mistake of getting the 2024 Gravely ZTX 42. There’s something very wrong with the deck. It spews debris/grass/leaves etc out the front and also non-shoot side. It’s really awful. I sold it after just 1 season. I got a 2024 Cub Cadet fab with Kawasaki and MUCH MUCH better and works how it should. I didn’t expect the grass to not get torn up from back tires like the Gravely did but is a bonus. Such a bummer about the Gravely but lesson learned

I bought a new Turf Tiger in 2012 gave the old on to the kids. Both mowers use the same spindles and I have a new spindle on the shelf but have never replaced on either mower. The joy of good parts. Never welded or broke either one. If you want tough get a Turf Tiger they are a tank. I mow a farm barn yards drive ways and house yard I am not easy mowing.

I wanted to supplement my cubby (I broke the front wheel off of it - i use it as a bush hog and abuse it regularly!) with a new one a couple years ago but cub cadet was way behind on delivery. I instead bought a Hustler commercial. It’s a beast but doesn’t handle the hills as well as my cub cadet. Btw, can’t say enough good things about my local dealer, Hines of Bedford PA! I purchased most of my equipment from them and they also provide good services. They really keep up on the models and problems with the available equipment.

I think Ferris has the best suspension but I haven't been on a lot of others. I have a 60" Exmark lazerZ. The e-series. It's been really good to me. The only issue I've had was when I was mowing a forest floor and a stick broke a small hydro cooling fan. It behaved just like your Husky did when hot. When I figured it out, I bought a new fan blade and changed the hydro oil on it, and it has taken me 2500 hours so far with zero sign of giving up. I have a fairly bumpy area of the lawn that is pretty jaring, but the suspension seat sorts that out pretty well. It's a rugged well built work horse mower with not to many frills. I'll be keeping it.

I don't know what it is with mower dealers, but you're absolutely right! I've walked into dealerships with thousands in my pocket, knowing exactly what I wanted....they had to do nothing, except sell me the mower...and they still managed to drive me away! They ignored me; they tried to talk me into getting what was in stock, that I didn't want, instead of getting a unit that I did want...let me walk out the door after 10 minutes of standing there waiting for the answer to a question while the owner had a convo with a friend of theirs who stopped in... AMAZING! They're like a case study in how not to do business! All the ones around here have horrible ratings for service. They lie like rugs... I've been treated better by other businesses when buying a $10 item!

Hey man I’m torn between buying the bad boy renegade, a SCAG turf tiger and an exmark lazer z x series mower. We have primarily flat land here in South Carolina. I don’t think you can go wrong with any of them! I have not driven the Turf Tiger or X series personally. But I do not believe the Turf Tiger has suspension. We tested the Scag Cheetah 2 and it had the suspension platform and seat. We have also driven the ExMark Lazer Z E series which has the suspension platform and the Bad Boy Rogue/Renegade is another than any of them! We just posted a video with cut quality with the Bad Boy, an ExMark, and the Yakta and the Bad Boy laid down the nicest cut. I will say the Scag we tested was the quietest with blades running. Personally out of the mowers listed I’d go with the Bad Boy.

There are many great mid mount zero turns mowers on the market. I got on to them over forty years ago before they got so popular with the homeworkers. I also think that the front mount mowers are often overlooked by most people. Probably because there are not as many manufacturers of them. But I have run front mount Grasshoppers for over 35 years, and I find there better riding and, most of all, have the ability to mow underneath large pine trees without getting all beat up from the trees themselves. Another brand is Walker, which makes a front mount and probably others that I don't know about. My advice is to drive one and see if it fits your needs. Thanks

Thanks for the work and videos, I know this problem, anyone who buys these types of things knows and has these problems! I just bought a new zero turn, a John Deere. Here's why I buy Deere. I just went on their website and looked at the parts diagrams for the zero I bought and just about every part can be bought. I recommend people look on the manufacturer's web site and check out parts. Deere is great this way, I've bought parts for 30 year old Deere stuff without any problems, also Deere stuff holds up and holds its price. You have to consider that too. When you buy from a Deere dealer you get the network, the repair and everything else right in one place. I have an expensive tractor from them with a backhoe on it. I did have problems with one of my other tractors and they took care of it. Next, know your dealer, it was good you checked out the dealers that had equipment you were interested in. Again, that's the beauty of Deere, hard to beat network of dealers. I think Jason from Husqvarna called you out of shame, he knew he would get beat and lose business. He knew there were problems? Then why didn't he fix them years ago, that's not a new company, so what's he saying they've had problems for years? I won't buy their machines! I'll have to watch and see what you did buy but I weigh lots of parameters, that's how I settled on Deere years ago and it has always worked out well for us. (I stay away from their lower priced box store items and only buy from a JD dealer, in the end you save). Thanks again, really enjoyed your honesty ,fairness and openness. Looks like you guys have a great relationship, my wife and I have the same thing, always working together for the best.

I only mow my lawn, just over an acre. I bought a Bobcat by Textron back in 2000 when there weren't many zero turns around. At the time it was overkill for what I needed and at a price of 6000.00 back then was a lot. The mower is still running strong. My advice is to over buy for your needs. Bobcat Textron has since been bought by Doosan and offer it under the Bobcat that we all know in the orange and white. I WATCH A CHANNEL THAT USES A LOT OF LANDSCAPING EQUIPMENT, AND I REMEMBER STAN ( THE DIRT MONKEY ) TALKING A LOT ABOUT BAD BOY AND GRAVELY...I'M SURE YOUR NEXT PURCHASE IS GONNA BE KILLER. GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR DECISION. STAY COOL, GUYS, AND KEEP PUSHIN' ON... PEACE...

Thank you, both dealerships were indeed amazing. I really liked the cut of the Scag and it was quieter while running and mowing, but you are correct the Bad Boy was so COMFORTABLE!

I bought a Bad Boy 54 inch Magnum, lasted 2 months after the warranty ended. All of the contracted repair shops in a 1 hr radius that were active when I made my purchase have since stopped doing Bad Boy warranty work due to parts/payment issues. I now have a $3k+ yard art until I find a place to work on it. I needed a mower as 5-7 days is about the longest you can go in Fl summers otherwise it becomes a chore to mower. Decided to buy a new Hustler Raptor XL 54” Zero turn after looking at all the brands you mentioned decided on a dealer from a long standing family owned local small business. Fingers crossed.

Try a Ferris. They have a true automotive coil over shock type suspension on the frame at the wheels, not just a spring- loaded seat. Would love to see you test one on here.

Not surprised I thought Exmark would have been 1 or 2. Here in Maryland everyone uses Exmark and SCAG mostly Exmark a few John Deers in there.

You may have missed an opportunity to look at a stand on mower. I have 10 acres of land and enjoy my stand on more it's versatility and ease of getting on and off of.

I’ve owned many different brands as I mow 20 yards on the side. I can tell you that Kubota has them all beat with the 780 series mower 60” deck. There’s no thrills but It cuts great and is built to last. I’m seeing more and more commercial companies running them.

I’ll have to disagree with you on this. Nothing against kubota because I have a kubota tractor but kubota mowers can’t beat the bad boy or the scag. Just my opinion.

Bad Boys have come a long way in recent years I had the opportunity to use new rogue…for a few days as mine was in the shop and I found that it striped just fine but the suction on the deck was not adequate enough and left behind stragglers. (60” cut) Not horrible but the Kubota 780 does cut better. I’m hoping to try out the bad boy stander 54” soon.

You did more research than anyone else I've heard of, I'm very aware of the fact lawnmowers are pricey, I don't think a lot people take in consideration the amount of grass area they have, what of mower do they need and how much money can they afford, I think the size of the cutting path should be first then motor hp,how much gas does it hold, then price, I think my choice is bad boy ,72 in cut, large motor, full capacity, price

We purchased a homeowner John Deer Z425 54 Inch about 7 years ago, it still has the original belts and only the second battery (always attach a battery maintainer after mowing). Day of delivery the store manager delivered it, he noticed it was not set up correctly, he took it back for complete make ready. Returned with the mower perfectly set up. Since then, we purchased a Kubota L3301 HST tractor, it is an awesome tractor and dealer service bar none. My wife can even mow with it being HST drive. If we ever need to replace the John Deer, I will most definitely be looking at Kubota zero turns. Kubota KTAC insurance cover our equipment bumper to bumper at a reasonable price.

Doozie here...This was quite a while back but crazy anyway. I believe it was back in 2006 I purchased a Cub Cadet M48 TANK commercial grade mower at the time over $6000. Honda 20 hp. I get it home and start to mow. OK , great. At 17 hours I'm mowing and it just quits. Stopped dead. I check for all obvious possibilities , nothing. So I load it up and take it back to the dealer. What was found was just totally incredible. The entire crankcase of that Honda engine was packed full of cosmoline. That's like vaseline. No lube , engine toast. Now I would have thought they'd have prepped this prior to delivery.Obviously not. But they made good and Honda provided a replacement as it was warranted. Just never had anything like that happen , bizarre. Surprised it lasted 17 hours.

Black and Decker owns a few mower companies, as well as a lot of tool companies. Based on what I have head from the reps I still connect with at Hustler, they are supportive and are letting the company improve and grow for future profits and customer satisfaction on their own.
