Hey , great video . When I bought my county line 3 yrs ago , it was 899.99 . I put 2 tables on it . I wish I had watched more videos because I would have gotten a splitter with a log lift .

Looks like Family Farm & Home is the only store to sell these. I live in Northern IL, closest store is in Benton harbor MI. 2:45 drive for me. It's definitely the most cost-effective way to get a faster splitter. Very tempting.

That was interesting. I have a Timberwolf TW-1 and it is small with a 5 1/2 H.P. Honda engine. With 2 people it is really fast with a 4-way wedge. I think I paid around $3000 for it. It eats up everything I put on it, mostly bitternut hickory and rounds are over 24" across. It has amazed me. It was the first splitter I bought. I had used a friends Countyline and was not impressed. As I get older, I wish I had a log lift, but I absolutely love my splitter.

Definitely! The commercial splitters can pump out some wood.

This explains why it would take me near 4 hours to make a cord with all the wood smaller then a 1.5"x5" With a 14 second speed. . 2 notable things of difference. . only one machine has the table, there was time picking up wood from the ground. Also the control lever, reaching over to use that control lever is not ideal, and could be a hazard after a few hours of running it. Let alone taking a few more seconds.

I have a cty line 40 ton also. Great splitter. Wish the valves were a little better quality and the wedge was a bolt to beam instead of the rails that collect debris, bend and crack.

The County Line does have add on tables at Tractor Supply. I was able to add one of them to my Troy Built splitter.

Hello. I watched your video and I went and purchased this unit from a family farm in Almont. Once home I noticed it was missing the hydraulic oil filter and watched and compared it to yours and also noticed you did not have it Installed as well. Did u realize this? It clearly shows in the Manual it’s suppose to have it. I’m currently in process of returning it and exchanging for another possibly at another location. Wondering if it was a issue from factory where they forgot to install? I can’t see it being a revised recall where they are able to bypass? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Geez, what a run around. So went to Almont to return. They had no others available but sent me to Romeo and told me they had them there. Get there and they don’t have any assembled which I specifically asked before driving out there. However, I was informed that the 25 ton model was revised and does not include a hydraulic filter. The guy gave me an updated manual which shows it does not come with one. So I went back to Almont and picked back up the original! Curious though because on the tool tuff website it clearly shows an assembly video of the 25 ton with it?? Not sure how old that video is though. If u find out more please update me. Thanks for responding and your time!

Can you tell us any information on the Hyper Split, as far as what engine and hp, and the size of pump/model # of the hydraulic pump? It looks like all the lines on it are 3/4"..is that accurate? Thanks.

It has a 6.5hp Briggs and a 16 gpm pump. I believe the lines are 3/4”

I think you would still come out on top but watching the to big things I could see is, one you just moved faster then he did. No two pepole work at the same speed. He was still faster then me ioi. Second, like you said you had the two tables and he did not have any so he had to fight with his wood some. I put one on mine and it made a big differance. It was still fun to watch.

Definitely difference in set ups and operators but we do our best to find comparable machines. If we had more time we would have switched machines and ran it again.

@jamescochran who wants a 22 inch piece of firewood? normal size wood stove box is like 18 inches. the one i have is 20. but to cut em to short like 14 or 16 mine are usually 18-20. my troy bilt is 25 inch stroke. the hyper split me and heath invested in is 22. so even at 20 for my woodstove being max. works out great! but if its for campfires then ppl like a shorter log cuz some people dont wanna be at a campfire that late so they will put 1 or 2 small pieces and thats it.

@@jamescochran8509 not everyone wants longer pieces. some people use woodstoves with the pieces and can only fit 18 or 20 inch logs in there. so anything longer then that prob wont work. shorter wood is good for campfires just for couple hours.

they have them on the west side of the side of michigan cedar springs and greenville i dont know if lansing area has any but since has highway ready tires can haul it i wouldnt do 70 or 80 with it but i did 60 and it pulled great behind my dodge dakota 4x4 v8.

Most of us are completely aware that the box store splitter manufacturers exaggerate the tonnage rating on their splitters. This hypersplit is taking that to a new level. I looked up the specs on their website. The hydraulic cylinder has a 3.5" (90mm) ID. Even if the PRV is set at 4000 PSI, that still only results in a force of just over 19 tons. I believe the county line splitter has a 4" ID cylinder. That greater volume required to fill the cylinder, in addition to the longer stroke length, is going to account for a lot of that speed difference. It also did not appear that the unloading valve in the pump was optimized as Heath has done the Hypersplit. It has long been my opinion that tonnage ratings on log splitters is given too much consideration when evaluating the overall design and effectiveness of any given splitter. However, in my opinion it is rather ridiculous for ToolTuff to use a 25 ton rating for this unit. That being said, I believe this is a pretty well designed splitter and a good value for the money. The one thing I would suggest to people buying this splitter is immediately add a return line 25 micron filter.
